  • Patent number: 6423022
Abstract: The ultrafiltration rate of a blood purification apparatus is controlled by a fuzzy control device in dependence on the patient's (16) blood pressure measured by a blood pressure monitor (24). For this purpose the blood pressure (P), a short-term blood pressure trend value (TRK) and a long-term blood pressure trend value (TRL) are fed as input variables for the fuzzy controller to the control device (23). The ultrafiltration rate (UFR) is determined by the volumetric ultrafiltration pump (36). According to the patient's (16) blood pressure situation a prestored profile of the ultrafiltration rate is modified. This avoids the necessity of an additional infusion to prevent too strong a blood pressure decrease.

  • Publication number: 20020082728
Abstract: An extracorporeal blood treatment system comprises an ECB station with an ECB unit, such as a dialysis machine. Via a web server and a browser, the ECB station communicates with a data net to which external browsers and external web servers are connected. Thus, settings and maintenance operations may be performed on the ECB unit from a remote location. On the other hand, patient-related, machine-related or drug-related data or statistical data or consumption-related data can be transmitted from the ECB station to a remote location. The communication between a user interface, e.g., a touch screen, and the ECB unit is done via the internal browser. Thus, the user interface has access to the data net. The ECB unit receives all data, information and instructions via the web server. Thereby, data of different sources can be processed in the same format and be given different authorizations.

  • Patent number: 6207733
Abstract: Capped amine hardeners for epoxy resins, which are reaction products of amines A having at least two primary amino groups, cyclic alkylene carbonates B, aliphatic carbonyl compounds C and compounds D having at least two groups which react with hydroxyl groups, such that in the first step, 0.1 to 1 mol of the primary amino groups for each 1 mol of the amine A are converted to hydroxyalkylurethane groups by reaction with the cyclic alkylene carbonate B, and the remaining primary amino groups are converted by reaction with the aliphatic carbonyl compound C in a second step to give ketimine or aldimine groups, and finally in the third step at least two of the molecules formed from A, B, and C are linked through reaction of the hydroxyl groups of the hydroxyalkylurethane groups with compound D. These capped amine hardeners are suitable for formulating water-dilutable monocomponent epoxy resin systems. The amines are released by addition of water, and are available for the curing reaction with the epoxy groups.

  • Patent number: 6196267
Abstract: A flow control valve such as a melt flow control valve includes a cock plug body (2) rotatably arranged in a housing (3) having a single melt inlet port (1) extending axially relative to the rotatable cock plug body (2), and at least two melt outlet ports (4, 5) extending radially relative to the cock plug body (2). The cock plug body has a flow passage including an axially extending inflow portion (15) and at least one radially extending outflow portion (16) to selectively communicate the inlet port (1) with a selected one of the outlet ports (4, 5). The cock plug body (2) further has at least one pre-flooding passage (20) extending from the main flow channel to an opening radially displaced from the outflow portion (16), so that a pre-flooding partial flow of melt can flow from the flow channel into the next outlet port, when the cock plug body begins to be rotationally switched from one to the next outlet port.

  • Patent number: 6117320
Abstract: A filter for filtering plastic melt prior to feeding the melt into an extruder nozzle, for example a thermoplastic film extruder nozzle, has preferably two filter housings for holding respective exchangeable filter cartridges. Both filter housings are articulated by hinges to a column mounting so that one filter housing can be serviced while the other filter housing with its filter cartridge is in a filtering position and vice versa. A single filter may be used alternatively. In both instances the column mounting may include at least one, preferably two, mounting columns.

  • Patent number: 4633664
Abstract: In an open-end rotor spinning apparatus, the driven rotor shaft (2) of the spinning rotor (1) is mounted by means of bearing members (20) for rotation in a casing (3) which is inserted into a mounting on the machine. The replacement of the spinning rotor (1) together with the bearing casing (3), without exerting a load on the bearings, is made possible by a flange (60) which is disposed on the bearing casing (3) and which extends along the rear side of the spinning rotor (1) and projects at least over the major diameter of the spinning rotor. During replacement of the rotor, the flange (60) serves as a handle, and in normal operation it serves as an additional cooling means for the bearings. By means of a ring (61) mounted on the flange (60), it is possible to form a casing (6) which is open at the front and which, with slight clearance, surrounds the outside contour of the spinning rotor (1) and reduces the consumption of energy.

  • Patent number: 4355407
Abstract: Rapid disconnection of a receiver in response to a small signal-to-noise ratio is provided in that in the receiver there is arranged a FSK demodulator having two channels connected in parallel at the input ends and each having a band-pass filter, an amplifier and a detector whose output is connected to a voltage comparator. The output signal of the voltage comparator is fed to an input of an AND gate in the receiving arm by way of a series arrangement of a high-pass circuit, a demodulator and a low pass filter to the inverting input of a further comparator whose non-inverting input is connected to a comparison voltage by way of a variable voltage divider. The output of the further comparator is connected to the other input of the AND gate.
