Patent number: 6539893Abstract: In a device for providing food to animals, comprising a feed supply and a bowl-like feeding basin serving for providing the supplied feed, the feeding basin comprising in about the center of the basin a cleaning opening that can be opened and closed by means of a closing element. The closing element is a part of the feeding basin that is placed in the cleaning opening in a flush or fitted manner, whereby both the closing element on its periphery and the feeding basin in the area of the edge compromise locking means which can be mutually actively engaged. The closing element can be fixed on or released from the feeding basin by means of said locking means both in the releasing and closing positions.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2002Date of Patent: April 1, 2003Assignee: Big Dutchman International GmbHInventors: Friedrich Otto-Lübker, Arno Reinke

Patent number: 6474966Abstract: A slot die for producing webs of a foamed plastics material, into which die plastics material which has been plasticized under elevated pressure in an extruder and charged with a blowing agent enters, and through the die gap of which the plastics material is extruded by foaming. The die gap is formed by a pair of rollers mounted in a laterally sealed manner in the slot die. This achieves the effect that an advantageous formation of outer layers already occurs ahead of the die gap before the start of foaming.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2001Date of Patent: November 5, 2002Assignee: Berstorff GmbHInventor: Friedrich-Otto Behrens

Patent number: 6412439Abstract: A sitting pole for poultry having a surface designed substantially straight on an incline, forcing the poultry perching on the sitting pole to sit in a defined alignment. The inclined plane is set at an angle of approximately 35°. The surface has a U-shaped profile with a U-base forming the inclined plane. U-legs are provided and are bent off from the U-base. The U-base can be formed by two surface sections that are set at different angles from each other.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Big Dutchman International GmbHInventors: Friedrich Otto-Lübker, Roland Busse

Patent number: 5089193Abstract: A method of extruding a foamed thermoplastic plastics material wherein the plastics material and a pore regulating agent are fed into an extruder and are fused in a fusion zone. The pressure of the fused material is augmented in a further zone and the material is then caused to flow past or through an obstruction so as to be converted into the form of thin layers or strands. Thereafter, steam and a propellant are sequentially injected into the fused mixture in injection zones. The steam is either saturated or superheated and has a temperature not lower than that of the mixture. The pressure of the mixture upstream of the obstruction is higher than the vapor pressure of the steam downstream of the obstruction. The pressure of the fused mixture and steam, while the propellant is being injected, is greater than the condensation pressure of the steam. The mixture is then cooled and discharged in a still further zone whereupon it foams.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1990Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Assignee: Hermann Berstorff Maschinenbau GmbHInventors: Friedrich-Otto Behrens, Ulrich Prossler

Patent number: 5044763Abstract: A processing machine is provided having a tool comprising at least two identical, diametrically opposite mixing fingers which revolve in the same horizontal plane. These mixing fingers have a round cross-section, are arranged very close above the bowl bottom and protrude with their free radially outer, slightly upwardly bent end into the bowl radius. Further, the mixing fingers are provided between the bowl bottom and bowl wall, and are adapted in contour outline approximately to the bowl radius. By using a round profile for the mixing fingers, both a pressure component against the bowl bottom and a raising component away from the bowl bottom are obtained. Also, due to the very small gap between the mixing fingers and the bowl bottom, an adequately high turbulence is generated so that material in this area is more fully mixed. Two mixing blades may also be provided above the mixing fingers and offset by 90.degree. in order to ensure proper mixing even of small amounts of material.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1989Date of Patent: September 3, 1991Assignee: A. Stephan u. Soehne GmbH & Co.Inventor: Friedrich Otto

Patent number: 4969671Abstract: A gas-tight joint for pipe linings and risers inside a bore, consisting of a neck with an outside thread and of a matching collar with an inside thread, with a groove in the vicinity of the thread on the collar and/or of the thread on the neck to accommodate a deformable gasket that, when the joint is screwed tight, is demarcated and deformed by the base of the groove in the neck and/or in the collar and by the contour of the thread on the other component. The cross-sectional area demarcated by the base of the groove in the neck and/or collar and by the contour of the thread on the other component once the two components have been screwed together remains constant along the groove and is equal to or larger than the cross-sectional area of the deformable gasket before the components are screwed together.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1990Date of Patent: November 13, 1990Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Heinz Gross, Friedrich-Otto Koch, Matthias Lang, Adolf Peeck, Hans Spliethoff, Wolfgang Venema, Jurgen Duisberg, Robert Scholl
