  • Patent number: 7299750
Abstract: Especially in hunting, the choice of bullets has to be such that it is in keeping with the wild animals to be hunted. According to the desired effect on the target, deformation bullets or partial fragmentation bullets are used. Since both types of bullets are different, the position of the point of impact from the same weapon is different. According to the type of bullet used, the weapon must be oriented differently in relation to the target. This can be obstructive and if insufficient attention is paid, can result in misses.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2003
Date of Patent: November 27, 2007
    Assignee: Ruag Ammotec GmbH
Inventors: Irene Schikora, Friedrich Riess, Bernd Krause
  • Patent number: 6971315
Abstract: Currently, 9 mm×19 mm caliber cartridges in the form of full-jacketed round-head bullets are used for small arms, especially for arms used by police. For safety reasons, efforts are being made to replace these bullets with a type of bullet that is prevented from passing straight through the target medium. Known deformable bullets from the prior art vary considerably in terms of the energy that they release in the target medium of density (1), especially in the human body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 20, 2001
Date of Patent: December 6, 2005
    Assignee: RUAG Ammotec GmbH
Inventors: Jürgen Knappworst, Bernd Krause, Erich Muskat, Friedrich Riess, Irene Schikora
