  • Patent number: 4339075
Abstract: A steam trap has a control member which includes a bimetallic element at the prepressure side and a locking element, which is biased by the prepressure in an opening direction relative to a valve seat provided for the locking element. The bimetallic element is supported at one end on an abutment and it actuates the locking element with its other end. At least one snap spring which is supported on the abutment is effective on the control member in the direction of the locking element stroke axis, and it has a spring constant which is numerically larger than the spring constant of the bimetallic element.

  • Patent number: 4196624
Abstract: A probe assembly is provided which includes a housing, at least one sensing element extending through a passageway in a wall of the housing and a sealing packing element mounted in the passageway for effecting a pressure-tight seal between the sensing element and passageway. The housing has a generally pipe-shaped neck portion, one end of which has disposed thereacross the housing wall through which the passageway extends, and the sensing element is at least partially disposed in the neck portion in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the neck portion. The neck portion is filled with a heat-resistant, porous filler material, which prevents damage to the sealing packing element.

  • Patent number: 4196384
Abstract: An improved probe assembly for monitoring liquids is provided which includes an electrode housing having an internal receiving chamber, sealing packing means disposed in the chamber and a generally cylindrical electrode enclosed within a flexible, tube-like insulation sheath, which electrode and sheath extend through the receiving chamber and the sealing packing means. The electrode has at least one circumferentially-extending, radially-offset surface disposed opposite the sealing packing means defining an edge against which the sheath is compressed by the packing means so as to effect sealing engagement between the electrode and the sheath.

  • Patent number: 4019532
Abstract: A flap valve, in particular a return flap valve, having a flat disc valve housing with an associated valve seat and a locking member which is actuated in a stroke and pivot movement by two control levers of different lengths, the control levers being pivotably mounted with one of their free ends on the valve housing and with the other free ends on the locking member, and the pivot axes of both control levers being arranged parallel with respect to each other. The two control levers are articulated with one of their ends at the front face of the surface side pointing to the valve seat and with their other ends within the cross section of the valve flowthrough channel at the inlet side in front of the valve seat on the valve housing.

  • Patent number: 3990471
Abstract: A flap valve, in particular a check valve comprising a valve housing and a valve seat formed therein, a plate-like locking member cooperating with the valve seat, the locking member being pivotably mounted to the housing, a locking spring extending across a remote front face and having a longitudinal axis substantially crosswise with respect to the pivot direction of the locking member. The locking spring is held axially pretensioned with one end on the valve housing and with another end on the locking member and the locking spring has the form of a leg spring and at least one winding connecting the legs. The windings are mounted substantially parallel to the front face of the locking member.
