Patent number: 6017099Abstract: The vibration damper has a sleevelike shaped part comprising an elastomer as a diaphragm. The shaped part is received tightly on the opening end of a bore of a housing and surrounds an extension of a support body disposed in the bore. Provided on a side face of the extension is a groove, which communicates with a chamber in the extension. The shaped part, which on its outside is exposed to the brake fluid, with the inside of its jacket wall defines a hollow chamber, formed toward the extension of the support body and having atmospheric pressure. The vibration damper can be used in a slip-controlled hydraulic brake systems of motor vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1998Date of Patent: January 25, 2000Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Steffen Schneider, Norbert Alaze, Dirk Hofmann, Ulrich Pechtold, Egon Stratmann, Juergen Haecker, Hans-Friedrich Schwarz, Norbert Mittwollen

Patent number: 5865213Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetically actuated, controllable valve with first and second valve stages, of which the first stage is actuated by an armature and the second stage functions automatically. An opening cross-section of the first valve stage is small and an opening cross-section of the second valve stage is larger than said opening cross section of said first stage. The first valve stage when in a closed position keeps the second valve stage closed. When the first valve stage opens a spring element opens the second valve stage. The valve according to the invention has an advantage of an only slight actuating force, and the total actuating force is actuatable exclusively to the first valve stage, and the further advantage of a large opening cross-section and hence a low flow resistance.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1997Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Martin Scheffel, Gerhard Stokmaier, Hans-Friedrich Schwarz

Patent number: 5735582Abstract: A valve assembly with a housing, a master valve and an auxiliary valve and an armature for the auxiliary valve and an electromagnet is proposed. In previous valve assemblies, in which the auxiliary valve, openable via the armature, serves to open the master valve, a master valve closing element is coupled via an idle stroke arrangement to the armature of the auxiliary valve closing element. If the armature traverses a first partial stroke, then the auxiliary valve is opened; if the armature traverses a further partial stroke, then via the idle stroke arrangement it can lift the master valve closing element from a master valve seat, if hydraulic forces are slight enough. Instead of the idle stroke arrangement, the master valve closing element is given its own armature, which is rigidly joined to the master valve closing element and acts in the opening direction. The valve assembly of the invention can advantageously be used in hydraulic vehicle brake systems that are set up for automatic braking.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1996Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hubert Eith, Helmut Staib, Michael Friedow, Martin Scheffel, Jurgen Lander, Gerhard Stokmaier, Hans-Friedrich Schwarz

Patent number: 5673980Abstract: A solenoid valve having a first seat valve for performing a closing function and a second seat valve, connected in parallel thereto, for a pressure-limiting function. A pressure medium spilled by the second seat valve flows off through a flow-off bore acting as a throttle. Pressure surges are thus largely avoided in the part of the brake system located on the flow-off side. The solenoid valve can be used in controlled-slip hydraulic brake system of motor vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1996Date of Patent: October 7, 1997Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hans-Friedrich Schwarz, Norbert Mittwollen
