  • Patent number: 8038892
Abstract: The removal of partial areas of a coating (11, 12) on at least one surface (37, 38) of a glass pane (2) takes place by means of a plasma jet (14, 15) which emerges from a plasma nozzle (5, 6). The plasma nozzle (5, 6) is part of a plasma unit and two such plasma units are provided. Both of the plasma nozzles (5, 6) are oriented towards each other and form a pair of nozzles. A glass pane (2) is machined between both of the nozzles (5, 6). A distance sensor (23, 24) is arranged on both of the nozzles (5, 6), and said nozzles (5, 6) are positioned at the correct distance in relation to the surface (37, 38) of the glass pane (2).

  • Patent number: 5850070
Abstract: An electrically heatable laminated glass glazing includes an inner glass sheet, an outer glass sheet and an intermediate thermoplastic film interconnecting the two glass sheets. Collector conductors constituted by foil strips serve as power supply conductors for heating resistors are embedded in the intermediate film from the side adjacent to the inner glass sheet. The free surface of the inner glass sheet is provided with a decorative frame of an opaque baking ink. An opaque coating, whose color is adapted to that of the decorative frame, is joined to the surface of the foil strip directed towards the intermediate film. The coating is preferably constituted by an inked polymer sheet having a width slightly greater than that of the foil strip.

  • Patent number: 5099104
Abstract: An electrically heatable car glazing (1) of laminated glass has a transparent surface coating (8) as the heating resistor. The outer glass plate (2) is provided, along the circumference of its inner side, with a frame-like heat-curing coating (6), and bus bars (7) of an electrically conductive heat-curing paint are provided on the frame-like coating. The surface coating (8) is placed over the bus bars (7), and metal foil bands (10) are placed above the bus bars (7) on the surface coating. The end portions (11) of the metal foil bands (10) are provided with a tear-proof plastic envelope (12), which is bonded to the glass plate (2).

  • Patent number: 4789600
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a laminated glass assembly comprising (1) a monolithic or laminated glass and/or plastic support having an glazed edge, and (2) a plastic sheet comprising at least one layer of polyurethane in contact with the surface having the glazed edge is disclosed. In the invention, at least one of the two contact surfaces of the glazed edge with the polyurethane layer is treated, before the assembly of the support with the plastic sheet on an area corresponding essentially to the glazed edge, by the deposit of a primer comprising a reactive mixture having free NCO groups. The free NCO groups are capable of reacting with the glazed support and with the plastic sheet and of forming cross-linking bonds with the other components of the primer at the time of the heat cycle of the subsequent assembly. The plastic sheet is the assembled with the support, and the glass undergoes a heat cycle which enables the reaction of the primer and the definitive peripheral adhesion of the glass.
