  • Patent number: 5158239
Abstract: The invention relates to a dispersing process in which a mill base consisting of solids and of a liquid phase is conveyed through a stirred ball mill containing a grinding medium, energy is supplied in this stirred ball by rotating rotors, and the solids are dispersed, and wet with the liquid phase, wherein the rotors rotate at such a high speed that the grinding medium moved by them forms, as the result of the centrifugal force, a rotating grinding medium charge which is in contact with the inner wall of the stirred ball mill, a space which is essentially free of a grinding medium being formed in the center of this grinding medium charge, the mill base is fed radially into the stirred ball mill, flows radially through the grinding medium charge in such a way that a centrifugal fluidiesd bed is formed with respect to the grinding medium, and is removed from the space which is free of grinding medium through an apparatus for separating off grinding medium.

  • Patent number: 5011089
Abstract: In a dispersing process, a mill base consisting of solids and of a liquid phase is conveyed through a stirred ball mill containing a grinding medium, energy being supplied in this stirred ball by rotating rotors to disperse the solids are dispersed, wet with the liquid phase. The rotors rotate at such a high speed that the grinding medium moved by them forms, as the result of the centrifugal force, a rotating grinding medium charge which is in contact with the inner wall of the stirred ball mill, a space which is essentially free of a grinding medium being formed in the center of this grinding medium charge. The mill base is fed radially into the stirred ball mill and flows radially through the grinding medium charge in such a way that a centrifugal fluidized bed is formed with respect to the grinding medium. The mill base is removed from the space which is free of grinding medium through an apparatus such as a sieve for separating off grinding medium.

  • Patent number: 4817690
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for filling transportable vessels with flowable materials in free fall, with a filler socket arranged on the top wall of the vessel, a first clamping ring which can be fastened removably to the filler socket, a second clamping ring which can be attached on the topside of the first clamping ring, and a flexible filler hose fastened at its respective ends to the first clamping ring and to the second clamping ring, the flexible filler hose being folded back inwards on itself in the region of the first clamping ring and having a weighting ring in its reversal region.

  • Patent number: 4482658
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the preparation of aqueous synthetic resin dispersions by using water to precipitate the synthetic resins from their solutions in water-miscible solvents. The solutions may contain pigments, extenders, and additives. The precipitated solids are separated off and dispersed uniformly in an aqueous medium. The precipitation of the synthetic resins is carried out in the presence of inert grinding bodies.

  • Patent number: 4390126
Abstract: Spray paint lines, in particular the spray sites in spray booths of auto assembly lines, are provided with the paint material by means of a pump delivering the paint material into the main ring. The pressure level required for spraying the paint is adjusted by means of a pressurized vessel and a pressurized gas above the liquid level. A second pump conveys fresh paint material into the pressurized vessel.

  • Patent number: 4076577
Abstract: A process for the separation of residues of toluenediisocyanate production from mixtures containing high boiling residues, toluenediisocyanate and solvent by evaporation in said residue at a minimum of 5.degree. C above the boiling point of the higher boiling of the components consisting of toluenediisocyanate and solvent. The mixture is fed into the central portion of an evaporator equipped with a helical agitator operative to provide a material flow moving centrally downwards and peripherally upwards.

  • Patent number: 4007321
Abstract: Particulate olefin polymers are prepared by catalytic polymerization of monoolefins in an auxiliary liquid containing the monomers to be polymerized in dissolved form and the particulate polymer product in suspended form. The reaction mixture is recycled in a loop to which the starting materials are fed and from which the particulate polymer formed is removed. The essential features are (a) that a side stream is branched off from the loop, (b) that the side stream is caused to pass through a separating zone in which particulate olefin polymer is separated by centrifugal acceleration at temperatures and pressures in the same range as present in the loop and (c) that the separated particulate olefin polymer is discharged through flashing means.
