  • Patent number: 4676441
Abstract: A package comprising a tube onto which a yarn, wire, tape of the like is wound by a precision winding characterized in that during the winding of the package the ratio formed from the speed of rotation of the package and the traverse speed of the yarn remains constant, in order to provide optimum characteristics with respect to the course of the package such as the mass distribution of the yarn of the package and with respect to yarn winding. A process for winding the yarn on the package with a constant circumferential speed and a device for performing the precision winding process is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4164837
Abstract: A yarn is described composed of an untwisted staple sliver and of at least one filament wound around this sliver. The denier of the winding filamentary yarn is under 50 dtex, the elongation at break of the winding filamentary yarn is at least as great as the elongation at break of the staple fibers; the strength at a specific load of the winding filamentary yarn at 4% of elongation is at least 10 g. Moreover, the shrinkage factor of the winding filamentary yarn is within the same range as the shrinkage factor of the staple fibers. Also at least 85% of the staple fibers are longitudinally orientated in the sense of the yarn direction.Furthermore, a process is described for the manufacture of a wrapped yarn by wrapping at least one filamentary yarn around stretched, highly oriented staple fibers being led through the hollow shaft of a rotating filamentary yarn bobbin. The winding filamentary yarn is withdrawn from the filamentary yarn bobbin and also led through the hollow shaft of this filamentary yarn bobbin.

  • Patent number: 4028874
Abstract: A roving is prepared by winding at least one filament yarn around a fiber strand which is untwisted and unsized and has a total titer of from 1,000 to 30,000 dtex. The filament yarn(s) used for winding have an elongation at break of less than 50% and a titer of less than 50 dtex. The length of cohesion of the roving is in the range of from 15 to 500 meters and one meter of the fiber strand is provided with 20 to 300 windings. The roving can be produced in simple manner and it is excellently suitable for the direct spinning of fine yarns.
