  • Patent number: 3988019
Abstract: In an apparatus for depositing flat articles that are being fed whilst clamped between a pair of double belt conveyors engaging said articles near respective margins thereof, a cam-operated thrust ejector is disposed between the double belt conveyors and is adapted to move through the conveying plane of the conveyors each time an article is to be ejected from the conveyors. The belts of the conveyors are compressible by rollers disposed to both sides thereof, the rollers on at least one side being retractable by control means when the ejector is actuated.

  • Patent number: 3952479
Abstract: Sacks having a filling valve at the top are successively taken from a storage station and pushed onto the outlet nipple of a filling machine by an apparatus comprising storage means for the sacks and means for separating the sacks and feeding them in a vertical position to tong means which are displaceable on a guide between the feeding means and the nipple and engage each sack below the valve. The feeding means comprise a double belt conveyor and, parallel thereto at the level of the valve, a double suction belt for pre-opening the valve, the tong means including fingers which engage in the pre-opened valve.

  • Patent number: 3946629
Abstract: Apparatus for severing sections from a web of material advanced by a feed roller comprises helical cutting blades on cylinders interconnected by helical gears. The feed roller can be coupled to and uncoupled from a drive by a dog clutch and the cutting cylinders are positively connected to the drive. Means are provided for axially displacing one of the cutting cylinders when the feed roller is being uncoupled from the drive, whereby to separate the cutting blades, and for returning the cylinder to bring the blades back into cutting relationship when the feed roller is being coupled to the drive.
