  • Publication number: 20010017815
Abstract: The invention provides a method and an assembly for the batch-wise preparation of a liquid product constituted by a mixture of at least one primary liquid and at least one secondary liquid. The secondary liquid and liquids, respectfully, to be meteredly added to the flowing primary liquid are displaced, before the metered addition, from a main reservoir to a buffer reservoir. Each of the secondary liquids is conveyed by means of an associated conveyor operating according to the displacement principle. The conveyors are hydraulically operated, whereby the same liquid can be used both as hydraulic operating medium and as primary liquid. A mixing element is provided for mixing the primary liquid with the secondary liquid or liquids. The primary liquid is under pressure, since it can be blended with carbon dioxide. The secondary liquid or liquids are supplied to the mixing element under a pressure that is higher than the pressure inherent to the primary liquid in the mixing element.

  • Patent number: 4669048
Abstract: The invention is directed to an apparatus for evaluating aerial stereo images. The apparatus includes an analytical plotter which is supplemented with an ancillary device for photoelectrically scanning and digitalizing subregions of both stereo images. The signals of the device are computer-correlated with each other to automatically, for example, determine the coordinates of homologous points and the occurring parallaxes. A method of carrying out the invention is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4568520
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing a series of samples of a mixture comprises a continuous filter strip on a roll and means for advancing the filter strip along a predetermined guide path. A suction head is located below the guide path and a bell member above the guide path at a point opposite to that of the suction head. The bell member is capable of being raised and lowered so that a portion of the filter strip is sealed between the bell member and suction head when the bell member is in the lowered position. Feeding means are provided through which samples of the mixture are conveyed from a sample vessel, through the bell member and onto the filter strip when the bell member is in the lowered position. A stamping device is located downstream the bell member whereby portions of the filter strip supporting the sample are stamped out in disc form. The disc is received within a receiving vessel. Reagent fluid supplied to the disc through a needle.

  • Patent number: 4505368
Abstract: To permit use of a manual transmission with the advantage of positive drive and hence better fuel economy with a controlled clutch (14), for example under operator control (13) or gear selection control (2013), an engine fuel control positioning stage (11) is provided which receives, upon start of the vehicle and change of the transmission from neutral to first gear, an engine starting speed reference signal from an engine speed controller (19). The clutch, under operator or gear change control, has a disengagement path (15) which causes rapid disengagement of the clutch and a connection or reengagement path (16) which operates with time delay to cause gradual engagement of the clutch so that smooth start-up is insured. A suitable start-up speed is idle speed of the engine, or close thereto.
