  • Patent number: 10596485
Abstract: Provided is a multi-functional apparatus that is able to isolate and collect organic compounds from plant material by way of steam distillation, organic solvent extraction, and oven purging and drying. The multi-functional apparatus is capable of being fitted with a variety of interchangeable condensers so as to accommodate the desired process. Among the organic compounds capable of being isolated and collected by way of the multi-functional apparatus are essential oils. Also provided is a botanical distillation and extraction apparatus which includes a main boiling chamber which is affixed with a selectively sealable cap. The selectively sealable cap is capable of being fitted with a variety of interchangeable condensers. The apparatus also includes a basket for holding plant matter that is attached to the boiling tank, a heating system, an optional vacuum system, and two distinctly unique condensers which may be interchangeably attached to the sealable cap according to the desired process.

  • Patent number: 10092855
Abstract: Provided is an extraction system which can be used to recover light oils and other organic materials during a supercritical or subcritical fluid extraction. The extraction system may include a dual purpose pressure vessel which can be used as an independent, full spectrum extractor by adding organic material within a compartment within the vessel and passing liquefied, compressed gases onto and through organic material as well as a separator to separate the extracting fluid from the extracted material. Filter membranes having different size pore openings designed to capture and retain various compounds based on their molecular size may be used in conjunction with the pressure vessel. The filter membranes are part of a filtration system which may be incorporated as an internal component of the pressure vessel or may be utilized at different locations within the extraction system.

  • Publication number: 20170157529
Abstract: A CO2 extraction system which is capable of being used for extracting compounds, such as oils, from various materials including plant material and botanicals. The extraction system includes a means for supplying CO2 to a pressure vessel. The pressure vessel is substantially comprised of two distinct portions; a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion includes a separation zone, while the bottom portion contains a collection zone. Affixed to the bottom portion of the pressure vessel is a drain valve which is capable of allowing extracted material to exit the system. When introducing CO2 into the extraction system, the CO2 may be liquefied and further saturated with additional compounds. By maintaining each of the respective top and bottom portions of the pressure vessel at differing temperatures and/or pressures, the various additional compounds may be separated from the CO2.
