  • Patent number: 8292207
Abstract: In the coarse and fine grinding of mineral and non-mineral materials, e.g. limestone, cement clinker, blast-furnace slag, old concrete or ashes, the grinding material, usually including new and recirculated stock, is fed as a defined and laterally bounded material layer (4) of predetermined thickness from a material feed container (3), belonging to the comminuting apparatus, by way of a roller-type or rotary-vane feeder (9), which is arranged at the outlet and can be changed in a stepless manner in respect of its rotational speed, onto the vertex of the laterally rimmed (45), driven, bottom roller (1), accelerated to the roller speed and transported continuously into the gap formed (5) with the upper roller (2), arranged in an offset manner above the driven roller (1), is subjected to hydropneumatic loading using specific compressive forces of 2 to 7.5 kN/mm and is then deagglomerated within the comminuting apparatus by a preferably high-speed rotary crusher (10).

  • Patent number: 6517016
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and the associated device for the fine crushing of solid mineral and non-mineral substances, preferably cement raw materials and cement clinker, by single or repeated compressive-load application using medium to high pressures with subsequent disagglomeration of the produced ground material in the same device. The object of the invention is to create a crushing device which, under defined conditions of control of, and load application by, the material to be ground, combined in a single device, carries out several process steps in succession, continuously feeds the material to be ground, as a defined material layer, to the grinding gap formed from pressure roller and level load-application path and, through the free choice of grinding path speed and grinding pressure, has a favorable throughput behavior with a high energy utilization and low outlay on plant.

  • Patent number: 4431453
Abstract: In the production of cement, the ground raw material is de-acidified in a calcinator and subsequently burnt in a kiln and before being de-acidified in the calcinator is preheated by a multistage heat exchange with exhaust gas streams coming from the kiln and from the calcinator, respectively, and conducted in two parallel series of heat exchange stages. Up to the heat exchange stage which directly precedes the calcinator and receives the exhaust gas stream from the kiln, the stream of ground raw material is conducted from each heat exchange stage of one series to a heat exchange stage of the other series. In order to provide equal conditions in both series of exhaust gas-handling heat exchange stages, part of the hot exhaust gas stream from the calcinator is admixed to the hot exhaust gas stream from the kiln before or adjacent to that heat exchange stage which directly precedes the calcinator.
