  • Publication number: 20230073443
Abstract: A method for manufacturing bleached pulp from a feedstock that includes recycled paper. The method includes steps of: (1) impregnating the feedstock with cooking liquor to yield an impregnated material having a liquor-to-fiber mass ratio of at most about 4:1; (2) cooking the impregnated material to remove at least a portion of the lignin within the impregnated material, thereby yielding a cooked pulp; and (3) bleaching the cooked pulp.

  • Publication number: 20220267957
Abstract: A feedstock includes feedstock paper and non-paper material. The feedstock paper includes lignin and cellulose. A method includes cooking the feedstock in cooking liquor to dissolve at least a portion of the lignin from the feedstock paper and to at least partially dissolve the non-paper material in the cooking liquor, thereby yielding a cooked pulp. The method further includes washing the cooked pulp to yield washed pulp and spent cooking liquor, regenerating the spent cooking liquor to yield regenerated cooking liquor, and bleaching the washed pulp.

  • Publication number: 20220074139
Abstract: A pulping method includes chemical cooking of softwood chips to retain a high lignin content of about 18% to about 28% by weight and fiberization of the cooked softwood chips to a low residual wood shive content of at most 15% by weight.

  • Publication number: 20090113838
Abstract: A water resistant structural board suitable for use in a wall system is disclosed. The structural board has water drainage channels on at least one of its surfaces to drain any water trapped behind the sealed wall system. The water drainage channels may be imparted into the structural board during or applied subsequent to a board production process, and the produced board is shipped to the construction site for a wall installation. When desired, the channeled surface of the structural board may be laminated, coated, or sprayed with a water resistant layer to further enhance the water resistant property of the board. A wall system including the disclosed structural board does not require a layer-by-layer installation of a component having water resistant property and a component having water drainage channel structure at a work site; therefore, labor cost and installation time may be reduced significantly.
