  • Patent number: 4644763
Abstract: In a knitting machine, electromagnetically controlled selector stations cooperate with sliding devices to enable them to assume two different positions. The sliding devices act in pairs on each needle of the knitting machine, and fixed vertical cams act on so-called two-arm levers to release them after selection, with the two-arm levers being retained or not by the sliding devices. Provision is made so that the two-arm levers can be oriented in four different positions. Each pair of sliding devices is composed of a first lower selector and a juxtaposed second lower selector, each of which can be moved into two different positions so as to produce the different four positions of the two-arm levers, in this way the needles may be controlled individually into tucking, out-of-action, standard knitting, and lengthened stitch knitting positions.

  • Patent number: 4481793
Abstract: A knitting machine includes a needle bed having a groove formed therein, a needle housed in the groove and reciprocatingly slidable therein, a needle cam, a needle cam follower mounted on the needle and engageable with the needle cam, a needle stitch selector and a needle cam disengager responsive to the stitch selector for controllably disengaging the needle cam follower from the needle cam. The stitch selector includes an electromagnetic selection station and at least one selector member which is slidably mounted on the needle bed. The selector member is responsive to the selection station and positioned thereby in one of at least two distinct positions in respect to the needle bed. The needle cam disengager includes a two-arm lever which is pivotally mounted on the bed. The first arm of the lever cooperates with the selector member and its second arm is in communication with the needle cam follower via the needle and acts operatively thereon to disengage the needle cam follower from the needle cam.

  • Patent number: 4197722
Abstract: A knitting machine including a plurality of needles extended by two superimposed arms one of which, bearing a butt, is flexible, while the other one extends the support face of the needle. The upper arm is embedded by the action of a cam on the butts of a needle-latch and held in the embedded position by an electromagnetically controlled selection of a selector element in order to put the needle in the row being processed out of action, or to hold it temporarily in its embedded position by causing one or several press blocks to act on one or several tracks formed by the alignment of preselected butts in either position of the needle-latch in order to tuck stitches upon each pass and for each system of a knitting carriage.

  • Patent number: 4192156
Abstract: The relative position of one knitting system in a knitting machine is varied with respect to another knitting system to vary the stitch patterns produced by the machine. The knitting machine includes one knitting carriage having two cam holders each provided with two knitting systems. At least one of these knitting systems is associated with moving means adapted to locate the system in at least two different working positions with respect to the other knitting system.

  • Patent number: 3973416
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a stitch press movement mechanism for a knitting machine having at least two needlebeds. The movement mechanism is based upon the rotational movement of a serrated wheel in engagement with a single rack. The movement or change of positions of the stitch press slide blocks is accomplished by the interaction and cooperation between a lever attached to the stitch press and a lug and a raised bearing surface located on the serrated wheel. The stitch press movement mechanism disclosed is particularly advantageous because it eliminates a number of the blows or jolts received by the fragile stick press slide blocks and thus promotes longer equipment life.

  • Patent number: 3952553
Abstract: A stopping apparatus for a rectilinear knitting machine comprising at least two needlebed parts arranged in roof form and provided with needles, a carriage being displaced in an oscillating movement above the frame parts for the control of the needles during its displacement in alternating directions, and at least one apparatus forming one piece with said knitting carriage to move the fabric away from the knitting area of the needles, said stopping means comprising a switch feed means arranged parallel with the direction of movement of the knitting carriage and control means for this switch.
