  • Patent number: 8002639
Abstract: A torsionally rigid flexible shaft coupling, in particular, fully-steel shaft coupling, for transmitting torques between shafts, in particular shafts with axes which are offset relative to one another, having one or two plate packs (5) which are placed on flange sleeves (6) and on the latter, are clamped by means of a ring (4) against an end-side flange (65b) of the flange sleeve (6), wherein the plate packs are clamped in an alternating fashion in the peripheral direction to the sleeves (8) or second hubs (9), which face one another, by means of screws (7) which extend through the flange sleeves (6) and have nuts (2).

  • Patent number: 4637502
Abstract: An overload release mechanism comprising a control plunger, a housing for slidably supporting the control plunger for axial displacement from an advanced coupling position to a retracted release position, the control plunger having a first portion having a first diameter, a second portion having a second smaller diameter and an inclined annular surface joining the first and second portions. The control plunger is maintained at the advanced coupling position until a predetermined axial force is applied and then is axially displaced to the retracted release position by a control ring having an inner diameter substantially the same as the second control plunger diameter made up of a plurality of discrete individual circumferential segments forming a substantially continuous ring when extending around the second control plunger portion.
