  • Patent number: 4655325
Abstract: An elevator control receives car calls for certain floors which are subject to a restriction of operation, but does not prevent the storage of these car calls. The car calls subject to the restriction of operation are only served during the trip in the opposite direction, if a load increase has been detected by a load measurement device during the change in the direction of travel. The restriction of operation is only cancelled during a predetermined time interval dependent on the movement of the car door and simultaneous occurrence of a load change caused by added travelers. Two storage cells are connected to the car call circuits for the car calls subject to the restriction of operation where an entered call, during a cancelled restriction of operation, is stored in the first storage cell and, during the restriction of operation, is stored in the second storage cell.

  • Patent number: 4654657
Abstract: The bidirectional transmission apparatus contains as an essential element a wire matrix utilized in a two-fold or dual manner. The wire matrix comprises two groups of column conductors, each group being provided for one of the two signal transmission directions, and one group of line conductors common to all column conductors. A control unit forms a component of a microprocessor and cyclically controls the line conductors and the column conductors are synchronously scanned and activated, whereby signal transmitters and signal receivers connected to the intersection or crossing points of the wire matrix are detected and controlled in a pulsed manner. The frequency and scanning ratio of the cyclical scanning operation are selected such that even the shortest contact periods to be expected are reliably detected and that, when opto-electronic indicator or display elements are activated, a continuous light or radiation of sufficient intensity is visually discernible.

  • Patent number: 4643311
Abstract: Stackable long-term storage container especially for radioactive waste comprises especially convoluted lid and bottom pieces to facilitate stacking. The lid is convoluted providing an annular projection which serves to allow grabbing of the lid and, together therewith, the drum. The floor has a rim which extends axially away from the floor and then is bent over upward toward the drum with drainage openings provided at the bottom edge. A resilient jacket is disposed around the bottom edge and surrounds the rim to prevent direct contact between the drums and scratching during stacking. A fiberglass reinforced plastic insert inside the drum protects the inner wall from damage. The special shape of the drum prevents causes for corrosion under all operating conditions of the drum, especially during very rough handling of the drum during filling, transport and storage.

  • Patent number: 4507621
Abstract: In order to test coding rule infraction test units for AMI code which are employed for surveillance of digital transmission circuits, an arrangement is provided which generates quasi-random sequences in the AMI code without employing a spur line short-circuited at its end. Previously, no coding rule infractions could be mixed into the generated signals with such a spur line usually employed for generating signals in the AMI code. With the disclosed arrangement a generator for binary quasi-random sequences is provided to whose output one input of a differential amplifier arrangement is directly connected. Another input of the differential amplifier arrangement is connected via a series connection of an exclusive OR element and a time-delay element. Noise pulses which lead to coding rule infractions in the generated output signals can be mixed in via the other input of the exclusive OR element.

  • Patent number: 4488220
Abstract: With this circuit arrangement a plurality of control commands can be inputted into a microcomputer system by means of only a single input channel and the microprocessor is relieved of the operation of scanning the peripherals for detecting the presence of control commands. By means of a release or enabling signal the microprocessor signals its preparedness for receiving interruptions, and the release or enabling signal activates a scanning and comparator unit arranged between an interrupt requirement input of the microprocessor and a peripheral unit. Thereafter the scanning and comparator unit scans control command transmitters grouped together in the peripheral unit and characterized by an address and compares the switching state thereof with a switching state which is stored under the same address. If the two switching states are different, there is generated an interrupt requirement or requisition and the stored switching state is adapted to the switching state of the control command transmitter.

  • Patent number: 4403330
Abstract: A regenerative repeater provides amplitude and sequence control of an n-stage digital signal having a high transmission rate with at least one clock pulse driven D flip-flop and a differential amplifier arrangement having n-1 threshold voltages. The arrangement is characterized in that the threshold voltages of the differential amplifier arrangement are capable of being switched over by 1d (n-1) binary control signals and for this purpose a multi-emitter transistor having at least n-1 emitter terminals is provided and has a base terminal, connected with the signal input, and with a bias voltage source. In the case of three of more control signals, the common emitter terminals of the control signal differential amplifiers, activated by the latter, are connected with the collector terminals of the transistors of the next-lower control signal differential amplifier.

  • Patent number: 4214235
Abstract: This invention is a circuit for the generation of 2.sup.n -step digital signals from n-binary signals which are respectively supplied to the input of emitter followers which are connected with a first multi-emitter transistor, whereas inverse binary signals are respectively supplied to the input of another set of emitter followers which are connected to a second multi-emitter transistor. The emitter connections of both multi-emitter transistors are also respectively connected through stepped current sources to an operating potential. The base connections of the multi-emitter transistors are connected to a reference potential through a common resistor. The collector connections of the multi-emitter transistors are connected to load resistors and serve as output connections. The circuit is particularly suited as a binary multi-stage converter for employment in PCM systems of a very high bit rate.

  • Patent number: 4191277
Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting control signals to a transportation installation, such as typically an elevator wherein a respective diode matrix codes the cabin and floor calls, and the outputs of which are connected by common call lines with the inputs of a call memory system. A coding device is provided for coding the elevator cabin position and comprises switches attached to the elevator cabin and actuation elements arranged in the cabin chute. An actuation element is provided for each floor change and is associated with the changing binary place of the code word associated with the floor. The switches are connected by means of a respective series connected diode of a coupling system with the outputs of the cabin diode matrix and by means of the call lines with the input of a cabin position memory.
