  • Patent number: 6367602
Abstract: A retractable wheel for a built-in luggage cart has a pair of telescopic pull rods, a handle mounted on the upper ends of the pull rods and retractable wheels provided at opposite sides of the lower edge of the luggage near the lower ends of the pull rods. The retractable wheel has a frame attached to the luggage and defined with a wheel well, a retractable wheel mount having an upper end pivotally connected to the frame, and a wheel rotatably attached to the lower end of the wheel mount, a strut vertically movable in the frame, a pair of arms having one end thereof pivotally connected to the strut and the other end thereof pivotally connected to the wheel mount, thereby the retractable wheel is extendable and retractable when the pull rods of the built-in luggage cart are extended and retracted.

  • Patent number: 6360400
Abstract: A controlling device for retractable wheels of a luggage barrow includes a housing with a telescopic handle assembly provided at a back side thereof, an L-shaped plate secured on a bottom end of the back side thereof, two wheel brackets respectively pivotally connected with the L-shaped plate and having two wheels pivotally connected at lower ends thereof, two linkages respectively linked with the wheel brackets, and two springs respectively provided in the linkages. An inner plate is provided on an inner side of the housing and fixed with the L-shaped plate. A connecting bar is extended through the lower ends of the telescope handle assembly. Two pressing members respectively have two upper ends thereof pressed against upper ends of the linkage member and two lower ends thereof respectively connected with two opposite ends of the connecting bar, whereby the wheels are able to be retracted into or extended out of the housing by retracting or pulling up the telescope handle assembly.

  • Patent number: 6081967
Abstract: The present invention relates to a operating device for a telescopic handle of a luggage cart. The handle includes a transverse bar defining an internal chamber therein and an aperture on the right top end, a pair of telescopic tubes with their top ends respectively fixed to opposite ends of the transverse bar. A pair of linkages are respectively and movably received in the internal chamber. Each one of the linkages moves in reversed orientation, such that a pivotal movement is initiated to cause an upward and a downward movement simultaneously while the operating device is activated. The movement of the operating device in reversed orientation will accomplish the extending or folding of the tubes.

  • Patent number: 5553350
Abstract: A handle set includes two telescopic handles with freely adjustable length. Each of the telescopic handles includes a first tube, a second tube into which the first tube is telescopically insertable, a tubular anchor with an upper tip attached to a lower tip of the first tube, a lower portion defining a plurality of slits so that the lower portion of the tubular anchor can be expanded easily, a link insertable through the first tube, a plug attached to a lower tip of the link. The plug can be moved to an upper position by pulling the link for abutting the lower portion of the tubular anchor against the first tube for restraining the first tube relative to the second tube. The plug can be moved to a lower position by pushing the link for releasing the lower portion of the tubular anchor from the first tube for allowing the movement of the first tube in respect to the second tube. Each of two link-driving devices is connected between a grip and one of the telescopic handles.

  • Patent number: 5367743
Abstract: A telescopic handle has a first tube with two slots and a second tube with two holes. A locking element has a first section attached in the first tube and a larger second section sited in the second tube. The second section of the locking element has two holes. A passage with a first section and a larger second section is formed through the locking element. A plunger has a first section insertable through the first section of the passage, a second section with a cross-sectional profile marginally smaller than that of the second section of the passage and a third section with a cross-sectional profile smaller than that of the second section of the passage. A spring is compressed between the second section of the plunger and a nut attached to the third section of the plunger. A pulling element links a bolt, insertable through the slots, to the first section of the plunger. Two balls are sited in the holes formed through the locking element.
