  • Patent number: 11654429
Abstract: A sample carrier may include a sample preparation module and an amplification module. A sample mixes with a lysis medium and a nucleic acid amplification medium in the sample preparation module and then flows into a plurality of microfluidic chambers in the amplification module. The microfluidic chambers have disposed therein primers configured to initiate amplification of one or more target nucleic acid sequences corresponding to one or more pathogens. The sample carrier is inserted into an apparatus that includes a plurality of Sight sources and a camera. The light sources illuminate the microfluidic chambers with excitation light, a fluorophore emits fluorescence light indicative of nucleic acid amplification in response to the excitation-light, and the camera captures images of the microfluidic chambers. A target nucleic acid sequence in the sample is indicated by the images showing an increasing fluorescence in a microfluidic chamber that has the primers for that sequence.

  • Patent number: 11194356
Abstract: Techniques for efficient operation of a linear stage in an H-bridge system are provided. In an example, a linear stage can switch between voltage regulation and current regulation over a range of a command signal. The particular regulation mode can depend on the regulation mode of a switched stage of the H-bridge system. Efficiency can be realized by using current regulation of the linear stage when the output voltage of the linear stage moves away from the voltage of a supply rail. Such a control scheme can reduce the voltage across the linear stage for a larger range of the command signal resulting in less heat dissipation of the linear stage compared to conventional control of H-bridge linear stages.

  • Patent number: 11190335
Abstract: A method for performing pattern detection and alignment on a programmable logic device is disclosed. A word aligner unit, implemented by a hard intellectual property block, is configured to detect a plurality of control characters by recognizing a proper subset of bits that are common among the plurality of control characters. It is determined whether a predetermined number of consecutive control characters has been detected in a frame of data. A boundary location associated with a detected predetermined number of consecutive control characters from the word aligner unit is identified. The frame of data is aligned in response to the boundary location associated with the detected predetermined number of consecutive control characters.

  • Patent number: 10954180
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for acid-catalyzed decomposition of aryl ?-hydroperoxide with a continuous flow tubular reactor. The process is a novel process performed in a tubular reactor, taking the aryl ?-hydroperoxide such as cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) as a raw material and taking acids as a catalyst, performing acid-catalyzed decomposition of the aryl ?-hydroperoxide solution in a short reaction time ranging from tens of seconds to several minutes, thereby obtaining the phenols; wherein an inert component may be filled in the reactor, so that the effects of heat transmission and mass transfer can be enhanced. The aryl ?-hydroperoxide and acid are respectively introduced by a metering pump into a mixing module to be mixed, and then enter the tubular reactor to be reacted so as to produce the products such as phenols.

  • Publication number: 20190280850
Abstract: A receiver circuit includes a transition density detector circuit that generates a transition density signal based on a comparison between a transition density of data words to a transition density threshold. The receiver circuit also includes a bit shift and pattern detector circuit that bit shifts one of the data words to generate bit shifted data in response to the transition density signal indicating that the transition density of the data words has reached the transition density threshold. The bit shift and pattern detector circuit counts a number of bits shifts performed on the bit shifted data to locate a synchronization character. The receiver circuit also includes a word alignment circuit that bit shifts the data words by the number of bits shifts to generate word aligned data.

  • Patent number: 8663461
Abstract: Solvent regeneration to recover a polar hydrocarbon (HC) selective solvent substantially free of hydrocarbons (HCs) and other impurities from a solvent-rich stream containing selective solvent, heavy HCs, and polymeric materials (PMs) generated from reactions among thermally decomposed or oxidized solvent, heavy HCs, and additives is provided. A combination of displacement agent and associated co-displacement agent squeezes out the heavy HCs and PMs from the extractive solvent within a solvent clean-up zone. Simultaneously, a filter equipped with a magnetic field is positioned in a lean solvent circulation line to remove paramagnetic contaminants. The presence of the co-displacement agent significantly enhances the capability of the displacement agent in removing the heavy HCs and PMs from the extractive solvent.
