Abstract: Herein disclosed is a reclining seat which has a compactly constructed reclining device which comprises a base member secured to a seat cushion, an arm pivotally connected to the base member and extending into a given chamber formed in the seatback and secured to the same, a latching mechanism disposed in the given chamber and arranged between the base member and the arm in a manner to selectively achieve locked engagement therebetween, an operation handle mounted to the seatback and linked the latching mechanism to actuate the same, and a cover member covering an entrance part of the given chamber. The cover member is tightly fixed to a part of the latching mechanism and has a slit which receives a raised part of the base member when the seatback is inclined in a given direction relative to the seat cushion.

Abstract: Herein disclosed is an arrangement for holding, when a seat belt is not in use, a buckle-mounted anchor band of the seat belt on a given portion of a seat back of a seat. The arrangement comprises a holder tightly connected to the seat back and having a first engaging portion projected from the seat back, and a plastic cover covering and connected to the buckle of the anchor band and having a second engaging portion which is detachably engageable with the first engaging portion of the holder. One of the first and second engaging portions has a flexible portion which is resiliently flexed to cancel the engagement between the first and second engaging portions when an abnormally big force is applied thereto in a direction to increase the degree of the engagement.

Abstract: A seat slide device for a car having a slidable seat having a forwardly tiltable back support, wherein a lock member is mounted on an operating shaft parallel to a movable rail pivoted to said movable rail, the lock member having pawls capable of being selectively engaged and disengaged with respect to any of the engagement holes. The pawls are always biased in the direction in engaging the engagement holes, and a retaining member linked to the back support is pivoted to an operating member such that when the back support of the seat is forwardly tilted, it engages with a part of the lock member to cause rotation to the pawls in the direction of causing disengagement of the pawls from the engagement holes, and the retaining member is provided with an engagement section capable of being brought into contact with the rear end of a restricting section, when the back support is turned to be upright and being displaced side wise of the restricting section to prevent restoration.
