  • Patent number: 6360566
Abstract: A household circular knitting machine includes a casing body having a central hollow interior having a circular section, the casing body including a bottom, a cylindrical holder rotatably mounted in the hollow interior of the casing body, the holder having an outer wall on which a first bevel gear is mounted, a ring cam fixed on the casing body so as to be coaxial with the holder, a rotational shaft rotatably mounted on the casing body and having one of two ends on which a second bevel gear is mounted and the other end on which a handle is mounted, the second bevel gear having a smaller diameter than the first bevel gear and meshing with the first bevel gear. Wool yarn is hooked on a hook of every second needle and the handle is operated to rotate the holder so that the knitting needles attached in the vertical grooves respectively are moved up and down by cam action, whereupon the wool yarn is knitted into a fabric, which is discharged out of the casing body through the hollow interior of thereof.

  • Patent number: 4832282
Abstract: A device having a spool around which a knitting yarn is wound and a holder member holding the spool for rotation and having a slot through which a leading portion of said yarn passes through so that when said device is suspended with the leading portion of the yarn engaged with opened hooks of the concerned latch needles of a hand knitting machine for forming Argyle patterns, said spool may be frictionally held without rotating. Thus, when using a necessary number of said devices, it is possible to avoid troublesome drawing up of two or three colors of yarns which often causes tangle of yarns and replacement of weights respectively attached on the yarns as the knitting operation progresses.

  • Patent number: 4781040
Abstract: Disclosed is a latch needle for knitting machine to be readily assembled from a latch having a pair of transversely protruded pivots and plastically formed from a synthetic resin, as well as an extended needle body consisting of a shank portion. A hook portion is formed at one end thereof and a butt portion at the other end, in which said shank portion has a slot defined by opposite side walls, each having a hole for engagement with each of said pivots. A pair of slanted bottom walls receive said latch for angular movement, which is also plastically formed from the synthetic resin. Owing to slanted face formed on said pivots or said side walls, the latch may be pushed or stricken down in the slot with resiliently spreading the side walls.

  • Patent number: 4724686
Abstract: A hand knitting machine comprising a transversely extended needle bed having grooves, each receiving a hooked latch needle and a carriage having cam grooves formed on the undersurface thereof so that every transverse movement of said carriage may form a row of stitches by engagement of the cam grooves with the needles to be reciprocated along the respective needle grooves, and means for detecting the relative movement between said carriage and said bed to generate a signal for controlling a computer so as to lower the design picture of the selected fabric to be knitted by one step, whereby the number of stitches to be formed in the next operation may be observed on the display unit.

  • Patent number: 4012926
Abstract: The invention provides an improved cam carriage in dual-bed hand knitting machine for pearl knitting. The cam carriage is adapted to be manually transversely reciprocated astride and along said two beds so that a plurality of double hook latch needles arranged in the respective grooves are subjected to so-called knitting wave movement. Either of the opposite hooks is adapted to engage with the cam plates directly so as to vertically move the needle in and along the needle groove whereby the opposite side hook is subjected to the knitting operation. Such hand knitting machine having such cam carriage has been in public knowledge. The invention improves the cam arrangement and provides some means arranged in relation to said particular cam arrangement for ensuring smooth movement of the carriage and clearing and/or closing of the latches.
