  • Patent number: 4441799
Abstract: A camera with a lens protective cover includes switching means which turns a power supply of an electronic flash on to establish a flash photography mode for the camera, and a connection mechanism providing an operational connection between the switching means and the lens protective cover. When the lens protective cover is closed while the switching means assumes a position in which it establishes a flash photography mode, a movement of the cover causes the switching means to be automatically returned to a photographing mode other than the flash photography mode.

  • Patent number: 4422742
Abstract: A photographing mode switching device for a camera includes a position detecting member associated with a mode switching member and a mounting detecting member which detects the mounting of an electronic flash on the camera. A flash photographing mode is established only when the both detecting members indicate that the mode switching member has been displaced to a position where a flash photography is enabled and that the electronic flash has been mounted on the camera.

  • Patent number: 4363546
Abstract: An apparatus for establishing a routine shot distance of taking lens for camera which includes a lens protective cover is provided. The cover is movable between a first position in which it covers a taking lens and a second position in which it allows the taking lens to be exposed. An arrangement is provided for moving the taking lens to a position corresponding to a selected routine shot distance in response to the opening/closing movement of the lens protective cover. The position corresponding to a selected routine shot distance can be freely chosen.

  • Patent number: 4363543
Abstract: An automatic exposure camera and an autostrobo incorporated camera are disclosed. An automatic exposure camera comprises an ASA area plate rotatably supported on a camera lens housing and provided with a number of through-holes which successively vary an opening area, a light receiving element positioned opposite the through-holes and rotatably arranged at the back portion of the area plate, and an ASA ring being rotatably in accordance with an ASA sensitivity of a film and to position corresponding the light receiving element with the through-hole at a predetermined opening area, the area plate being made rotatable in accordance with a predetermined iris setting or a shutter setting as provided by the light receiving element.

  • Patent number: 4024553
Abstract: An electrical focal plane shutter is provided of a type in which subsequent to a running of a first blind of the shutter, a second blind of the shutter is constrained from movement by an electromagnet until a desired exposure period passes, whereupon the electromagnet is deenergized to permit a running of the second blind. The electromagnet is controlled by an electromagnet control device including a light receiving element which is used for photometry. The shutter includes a shutter detent mechanism for preventing a shutter release operation when an electric storage battery contained in an associated camera is exhausted. The shutter further includes a high speed shutter operation control mechanism which assures against the instability of the operation of the electromagnet when the shutter is operating at a high speed, and also includes a manual shutter control mechanism for establishing a shutter operation period of a given length in a purely mechanical manner.
