Abstract: A process for producing a microcapsule diagnostic material utilizing passive agglutination which comprises binding an antigen or antibody onto a microcapsule wall negatively charged, in an acidic solution is provided. The microcapsule diagnostic material thus produced has an extremely high sensitivity in agglutination without causing any non-specific agglutination.

Abstract: An encapsulated electrostatographic toner material comprising a core and a shell enclosing the core, in which said core comprises:a colorant;a polymer;a solvent having a boiling point of not lower than 180.degree. C. which is capable of dissolving the polymer of causing the polymer to swell; andan organic liquid having a boiling point in the range of 100.degree. to 250.degree. C. which is substantially incapable of dissolving the polymer or causing the polymer to swell.

Abstract: In a process for the preparation of an electrostatographic toner material suitably employable for pressure fixing process, comprising encapsulating a core material containing colorant with a shell material selected from the group consisting of a melamine resin and a urea resin in an aqueous medium to prepare encapsulated toner particles and spray-drying the so prepared toner particles, the improvement in which the spray-drying of the toner particles is carried out in the presence of a cationic compound selected from the group consisting of a cationic surface active agent and a cationic polymer.

Abstract: In a process for the preparation of an electrostatographic toner material comprising encapsulating a core material containing colorant with a shell material in an aqueous medium to prepare encapsulted toner particles and drying the so prepared encapsulted toner particles, the improvement which comprises washing the encapsulated toner particles with an aqueous solution of a surface active agent in advance of subjecting them to the drying procedure.

Abstract: Antigen- or antibody-bound microcapsules are employed for immunological assay of biochemical components having immunological activity. The microcapsule system provides high detection sensitivity, high accuracy and excellent reproducibility in immunological assay, without causing non-specific reaction. The microcapsules can be labelled with isotopes, enzymes, etc., for use in quantitative assays of trace amounts of biochemical components.

Abstract: A method of preparing a dispersion of microcapsules whose walls comprise formaldehyde as one of the wall components characterized by adding urea, a sulfite or a hydrogensulfite to said dispersion.

Abstract: A method of forming microcapsules having high heat resistance and low permeability which comprises the step of forming wall films of urea-formaldehyde resin around individual droplets of a hydrophobic oily solution through the polymerization reaction of urea and formaldehyde in the presence of carboxylated polyvinyl alcohol.
