Patent number: 7637508Abstract: A long life high pressure seal stack provides a reliable and efficient seal between a plunger and housing of a plunger type pump. The seal stack includes a high pressure sealing element and a low pressure sealing element, both of which provide a sealing extension which surrounds and is in contact with the plunger. The sealing extension is configured to be exposed to internal pressures within the valve, thus urging the sealing extension tighter against the plunger when pressures are high, while relaxing the sealing extension when pressures are low. By incorporating this variable pressure feature, the friction between the plunger and the seal is greatly reduced, especially during low pressure conditions. Further, the sealing elements are constructed of a low friction material, thus avoiding problems related to potential overheating of a seal element.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2005Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Interpump Engineering S.R.L.Inventor: Fulvio Montipo

Patent number: 7441561Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a valve assembly comprising a housing and a valve mechanism. The housing includes a pair of support rings connected together with a set of legs. The valve mechanism is supported within the housing and includes an open position and a closed position. The valve mechanism is constructed and arranged such that when in the open position, fluid is allowed to flow through the valve mechanism into the housing and exit the housing between the legs. More than four legs extend between the first support ring and the second support ring, the legs arranged circumferentially such that the legs are substantially equally spaced around the housing.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2005Date of Patent: October 28, 2008Assignee: Interpump Engineering S.R.L.Inventor: Fulvio Montipo

Publication number: 20050242517Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an o-ring assembly adapted to fit between connected articles. The o-ring assembly includes a pliable ring and a less pliable but lower friction support ring. The pliable ring includes a first generally flat surface and a curved outer surface. The support ring includes a pair of opposing surfaces. One of the opposing surfaces is adapted to interface with the generally flat surface of the pliable ring and the other of the opposing surfaces is adapted to interface with the at least one of the articles.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2005Publication date: November 3, 2005Applicant: Interpump Engineering S.R.L.Inventor: Fulvio Montipo
