  • Patent number: 5403279
Abstract: A blood collecting apparatus includes a measuring device provided with a sensor for measuring the amount of collected blood when blood is collected into a blood container, and a controller for calculating the amount of collected blood based on an output y of the measuring sensor. The output y is a function of an n-times measured weight w of collected blood such that y=aw+b, wherein a and b are constants characteristic of the measuring sensor. The controller detects the output yi of the measuring sensor in n+1 units of respective known amounts wi of collected blood, and corrects the constants a and b on the basis of such detected data. The controller, moreover, automatically detects the output yO of the measuring sensor every predetermined cycle in a state where the measured weight w of collected blood is zero, and corrects the constant b of the function y=aw+b on the basis of such detected output yO.

  • Patent number: 5153828
Abstract: Apparatus for collecting blood includes a control device for starting the action of collecting blood into a continuously or intermittently vibrated blood container, to receive a measured collected blood amount and data of a set amount of blood to be collected into the blood container, and also a vibration stoppage reference time during which the vibration of the blood container is stopped at a blood collection terminating stage so as to calculate, at a midway stage of the blood collection, the amount of blood yet to be collected and the blood collecting speed allowed by the current donor, to calculate, on the basis of the calculated blood collection speed, the yet-to-be-collected blood collecting time that corresponds to the amount of blood yet to be collected.

  • Patent number: 5135646
Abstract: A liquid separator of the present invention comprises a first plate member, a second plate member forming a receiving portion between it and the first plate member for receiving a flexible liquid container including liquid separated into the upper liquid layer and the lower liquid layer, and pushing means for pushing the second plate member toward the first plate member, said pushing means automatically pushing the second plate member with gradually decreasing pressure after starting the discharge of the upper liquid layer from the flexible liquid container. Therefore, the upper liquid layer can be discharged from the flexible liquid container without disturbing the boundary between the upper and lower liquid layers in the flexible liquid container. Thus, the upper liquid layer can automatically and efficiently be taken out from the flexible liquid container without mixing with the lower liquid layer and without any complicated and troublesome manipulation.

  • Patent number: 5124030
Abstract: A solution separating apparatus has a container holding portion, a container pressurizing portion, an interface detecting portion, and a control unit. The interface detecting portion comprises a light emitting apparatus disposed to one side and a light receiving apparatus disposed to another side with a container held by the container holding portion sandwiched therebetween. The light emitting element comprises a plurality (three or more) of light emitting elements disposed in parallel in the substantially moving direction of the interface within the container. Another solution separating apparatus embodiment has a container holding portion, a tube clamper, a container pressurizing portion, a control unit, and a weight measuring portion commonly used by two or more container holding portions. The weight measuring portion selectively measures the quantity of weight change of each container held by the container holding portions.

  • Patent number: 5035865
Abstract: A blood sample collecting device includes a vacuum blood sampling chamber having a blood container disposed therein, and a vacuum pump for evacuating the vacuum blood sampling chamber to collect a blood sample into the blood container under a vacuum developed in the vacuum blood sampling chamber. The amount of collected blood in the blood container, and the vacuum in the vacuum blood sampling chamber is lowered below a preset pressure on the condition that a rate of increase in the measured amount of collected blood does not reach a predetermined normal rate of increase.
