  • Publication number: 20110172304
Abstract: Provided is an attractant of white peach scale capable of simplifying the synthesis of a sex pheromone of white peach scale and suppressing attraction of a parasitoid wasp which is a natural enemy of the white peach scale. More specifically, provided is a sex attractant of white peach scale comprising at least (R,Z)-(+)-3,9-dimethyl-6-isopropenyl-3,9-decadienyl priopionate and a geometric isomer (R,E)-(+)-3,9-dimethyl-6-isopropenyl-3,9-decadienyl priopionate at a weight ratio ranging from 80:20 to 40:60. In addition, provided is a method for attracting white peach scale by using said attractant.

  • Patent number: 7055295
Abstract: Herein disclosed is an annular sustained release pheromone-dispenser which has a shape favorable for packaging and transportation, can easily be installed, can maintain its installed condition over a long time period and can easily be handled even after use without any trouble. Also provided is a tool for easily and rapidly installing a pheromone-dispenser at elevated spots of, for instance, fruit trees. The sustained release pheromone-dispenser comprises a plurality of plastic tubes 2a and 2b arranged in parallel and capable of being semi-resiliently deformed, whose ends 3 are connected together by fusion and whose central portions are independent and can form a annular space therebetween by pulling them apart from one another; and a liquid synthetic sex pheromone 1 enclosed in these plurality of plastic tubes 2a, 2b without impairing the pheromone-release capacity.

  • Publication number: 20040197365
Abstract: Provided are a mating disruption agent toward the peach twig borer and a mating disruption method comprising the use of the mating disruption agent. The attraction inhibition of this mating disruption agent, which gets rid of harmful insects without the use of insecticide, is extremely effective and flawless right up to the post harvest of fruits such as peaches. More specifically, provided is a mating disruption agent comprising 5-decenyl acetate having an E/Z ratio of 65/35 to 100/0 and 5-decen-1-ol having an E/Z ratio of 65/35 to 100/0 wherein the 5-decen-1-ol is 10% by weight or less based on total weight of the 5-decenyl acetate and 5 -decen-1-ol. Also provided is a method of peach twig borer mating disruption comprising use of the mating disruption agent.

  • Patent number: 6599500
Abstract: When a communication disruptant containing (Z)-11-tetradecen-1-yl acetate as the only active ingredient is continually used for a period of 5 to 10 years, a phenomenon has been observed in which its communication-disrupting effect on insect pests, particularly of the family Tortricidae, living in the field or the like through successive generations is reduced. Accordingly, it is eagerly desired to develop a new communication disruptant which is also effective for such fields where the communication-disrupting effect (on insect pests, particularly of the family Tortricidae, living there through successive generations) has been reduced.

  • Patent number: 5725849
Abstract: Herein disclosed are a communication disruptant for controlling Pandemis heparana which is a leaf roller of an apple pest in the world. The communication disruptant comprises (Z)-11-tetradecenyl acetate as active ingredient, and a content of its geometrical isomer, (E)-11-tetradecenyl acetate, should be not more than 1% on the basis of the weight of the active ingredient. Because the present invention indicates that (E)-11-tetradecenyl acetate is an inhibitor of communication disruption effect of the active ingredient. Moreover, the present invention also indicates that (Z)-11-tetradecenol show synergistic effect to the active ingredient, when the alcohol content is not more than 5% on the basis of the weight of the active ingredient.
