  • Publication number: 20110073203
Abstract: A five-port switch valve includes a cylinder having five chambers defined by four partitions, and two actuators. The valve body of one actuator alternately opens and closes a hole formed in the partition and a hole formed in the partition. The valve body of the other actuator alternately opens and closes a hole formed in the partition and a hole formed in the partition. By virtue of this structure, brine fed into the central chamber through a port is alternately fed into two pressure converters through ports.

  • Publication number: 20110062062
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a power recovery apparatus used in a desalination apparatus including a reverse osmosis membrane which extracts fresh water from seawater and ejects concentrated water includes a pressure conversion section and a seawater supply section to collect energy of the concentrated water. The pressure conversion section includes a movable part dividing inside of the conversion section into first and second spaces, moves the movable part by causing the first space to receive the concentrated water, and pushes out seawater filled in the second space by the movable part to output the seawater. The pressure conversion section further includes a drive mechanism which drives the movable part so as to output the seawater from the second space. The seawater supply section merges the seawater from the pressure conversion section with the seawater supplied to the reverse osmosis membrane.

  • Patent number: 7371056
Abstract: A fluid pump includes a case including a pump chamber, a reserve tank for storing spare liquid and located in the case but outside the pump chamber and formed so that a space independent of the pump chamber is defined by the reserve tank, a fluid path forming member arranged inside the reserve tank and including a discharge path communicating between a discharge port and the pump chamber, and a communication hole which is formed in a side of the fluid path forming member so as to assume such a position that the communication hole faces an inside of the reserve tank so that the hole communicates between the discharge path and the inside of the reserve tank, the communication hole being sized so that air in the pump chamber is allowed to flow through the hole into the reserve tank.
