Patent number: 5376994Abstract: An image forming apparatus having deflection scanning type and line type exposing devices and first and second developing devices arranged around a photoconductive element, so that parts around the photoconductive element are arranged with ease to promote the miniaturization of the apparatus. The exposing devices are selected based on the principle that the image quality is enhanced for an image of particular color and is lowered for an image of another color expected to be printed less frequently. Specifically, the deflection scanning type exposing device forms the image of the particular color, and the line type exposing device which has an inherently long optical path and simple structure forms the image of another color. Fans are provided to produce cooling air flow to the line type exposing device and to draw out toner dirt and ozone produced by the charger associated therewith.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1993Date of Patent: December 27, 1994Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Mama, Yuji Yasuda, Kan Tomita, Fumihiro Miyagawa, Shinji Kobayashi, Takanobu Fujioka, Hidetoshi Kanai, Yoshiki Yoshida

Patent number: 5309182Abstract: A bicolor image forming apparatus having first and second exposing means and first and second developing means arranged around a photoconductive element. The first and second developing means are implemented as a deflection scanning type and a line type, respectively. Parts around a photoconductive element are arranged with ease to promote the miniaturization of the apparatus. This stems from the principle that the image quality may be enhanced for an image of particular color and lowered for an image of another color expected to be printed less frequently. Specifically, the apparatus has deflection scanning type exposing means for forming the image of particular color, and line type exposing means which has an inherently long optical path and simple structure for forming the image of another color.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1992Date of Patent: May 3, 1994Assignee: Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Mama, Yuji Yasuda, Kan Tomita, Fumihiro Miyagawa, Shinji Kobayashi, Takanobu Fujioka, Hidetoshi Kanai, Yoshiki Yoshida

Patent number: 4312581Abstract: A frame number counter is provided which counts a signal produced as a film is being conveyed, the count signal being applied to electrooptical digital display means to initiate the frame number of the film. The data which are displayed by the display means are entered onto a film surface by optical means. The display means is also capable of indicating the date and the time of day in response to an output from an electronic clock. A vibrating sound emitter is provided which becomes operative when the count in the frame number counter reaches a given value. It is also possible to provide a down counting operation of the counter.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1980Date of Patent: January 26, 1982Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Fumihiro Miyagawa, Akira Takahashi

Patent number: 4264173Abstract: A lens tube guide frame holds a retractable lens tube in the body of the camera and also holds a lens and a film surface in their respective correct positions for making exposures. The lens tube guide frame can be easily inserted in the body of the camera and includes a standard surface at its front inner wall opposite the open side of the lens tube guide frame to provide an exact stop for forward movement of the lens tube. The guide frame cross section is U-shaped or box-shaped, and has two projection portions directed outwards at the open rear end to engage adjacent side walls of the camera body. The lens tube guide frame, with the lens tube already in it, is inserted into the camera body through the back side when assembling, whereby the lens tube guide frame can be positioned without any adjustment.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1979Date of Patent: April 28, 1981Assignee: Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akio Furukawa, Kousaku Sawabe, Fumihiro Miyagawa, Hiroo Nakano, Atushi Tokunaga

Patent number: 4025932Abstract: Data such as the place and time a picture is taken are written on a tape in a data capsule which is detachably mounted in the camera body. A light source and an optical system are mounted in a hollow tube which is movable along the tape to scan the data and project the data onto an edge portion of the film when the camera shutter is opened. The tube has an aperture facing the film surface and another aperture facing the tape through which the image of the data passes. The aperture facing the tape is arranged very close to the surface of the tape so that light from the light source is prevented from being scattered into the body of the camera and adversely affecting the film.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1975Date of Patent: May 24, 1977Assignee: Ricoh Co., Ltd.Inventor: Fumihiro Miyagawa
