  • Publication number: 20100173602
Abstract: To enable reliable receipt of an emergency broadcast transmitted by a digital television in the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake, and diminish electric power consumed in a standby condition where an emergency broadcast is not transmitted. In the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake, a Meteorological Agency' s server 3 commands a broadcast station 8 to commence an emergency broadcast and notifies an emergency broadcast receiving information distribution server 5 of seismic information by way of the Internet 3 and a portable cellular phone network 4. The emergency broadcast receiving information distribution server 5 distributes emergency broadcast receiving information to a portable cellular phone 1 equipped with a television receiver by way of a portable cellular phone base station 6 located in an area hit by an earthquake.

  • Publication number: 20090227297
Abstract: It is intended to provide a cellular telephone apparatus which employs a single sound-producing body as both of a receiver for reproducing a speech sound and a speaker for reproducing a ringer tone and which can secure a necessary reproduction frequency characteristic for each of the reproduction of a speech sound and the reproduction of a ringer tone. During reproduction of a ringer tone, the characteristic of a lowpass filter 130b is chosen as the frequency characteristic of a digital lowpass filter 130, a speaker 135 is driven by rendering a preamplifier 133b and a push-pull circuit 133d of a speaker amplifier 133 in an active state and setting the output form (circuit configuration) of the speaker amplifier 133 to BTL output, and the signal pass-band is set to a pass-band of 100 Hz to 20 kHz.

  • Patent number: 7050838
Abstract: There is provided a portable information terminal having a built-in radio communications device which minimizes a drop in the voltage of a battery and diminishes the operation threshold voltage of the portable information terminal, thereby lengthening the operatable time of the terminal. In the portable information terminal, when a radio communications section is in a transmission state, a microprocessor of an interface and a microprocessor of an information processing section are brought into a hold state, thereby deactivating the interface and the information processing section. As a result, the operating current required during transmission can be minimized. When the radio communications section is not in a transmission state, the information processing section and the interface are activated.

  • Publication number: 20050270396
Abstract: In a fold-up type of portable telephone device, the casing to be opened/closed has liquid crystal display devices on its front and back sides, which causes occurrence of noise. In view of this, in the liquid crystal display device of a portable telephone device, a flexible connection substrate is used to integrally form first and second liquid crystal display parts with a driver circuit shared therebetween. The first liquid crystal display part is connected to the flexible connection substrate to which the second liquid crystal display part is connected. The second liquid crystal display device is formed by adding the flexible connection substrate to the first liquid crystal display part, and both are driven by the driver circuit. Not only an alternative display but also simultaneous displays can be selectively performed.

  • Patent number: 6804541
Abstract: PC card integrated radio communication apparatus is provided wherein the service hour is prolonged and battery charge is made possible in the operating state where current consumption of the radio communication section is small, by controlling power distribution to each section of the apparatus and to control battery charge for power supply from a PC card slot and power supply from a battery, depending on the power supply state of the personal computer and operating state of the apparatus. The circuit configuration includes switch circuits (C23, C24, C19, C18) so that power source for respective power circuits (C16, C22) of the radio communication section (C1) and the modem section (C2) can be selected from the PCMCIA I/F (b1) of a personal computer or a signal, or both of them simultaneously. This allows selection of the optimum power supply mode depending on the connection mode and operating state of the apparatus.
