  • Patent number: 5936177
Abstract: A foot pedal for a drum set such as a bass drum is constructed using a pedal frame which contains a frame body and two support members. Herein, the two support members project upwardly from both ends of the frame body. A rotation shaft is rotatably supported by beating portions which are provided at upper end portions of the two support members respectively. A foot board is provided for the pedal frame and is operated in response to step force applied thereto. A rocker is fixed to a selected position of the rotation shaft and is equipped with a beater by means of a beater rod. So, when a person depresses the foot pedal by a foot, step force applied to the foot pedal is transmitted to the rocker by means of a step force transmission member such as a chain, so that the rocker rotates together with the rotation shaft. In response to rotation of the rocker, the beater strikes a drum head of the bass drum.

  • Patent number: 5798472
Abstract: A return spring regulator incorporated in a drum beater has a regulating nut rotatable with respect to a frame and a regulating bolt screwed into the regulating nut, and a player regulates the tension of a coil spring stretched between an arm member fixed to a rotatable shaft and the regulating bolt by simply rotating the regulating nut.

  • Patent number: 5659144
Abstract: In a foot pedal for a drum, the beater which pivots to strike the drum head when a pedal board is depressed by the player can be moved and adjusted in the forward-backward and left-right directions relative to the drum head via a simple structure which includes a beater holding mechanism. The beater holding mechanism is provided on a rotatable shaft linked to the pedal board and includes a holder and a movable member which is rotatably installed in a hole formed in the holder so that the movable member is rotated and also moved in the axial direction of the rotatable shaft which is installed horizontally. A beater rod which has the beater at the end is attached to the movable member. Thus, when the movable member is rotated in the hole of the holder, the distance between the beater and the drum head surface is changed; and when the movable member is moved horizontally in the hole of the holder, the beater is moved closer to and away from the center of the drum head.

  • Patent number: 5565637
Abstract: A foot pedal for a drum including a drum hoop receiving member. The drum hoop receiving member has the shape of an inverted triangle when viewed from the side and is pivotably provided on the beater holding portion of the pedal frame. When the drum hoop of a bass drum is placed on the hoop receiving member, the hoop receiving member pivots in accordance with the setting angle of the drum and makes a surface contact with the drum hoop so that the bass drum is securely held on the hoop receiving member regardless of the setting angle of the drum.

  • Patent number: 5557054
Abstract: A foot pedal for a drum including a frame main body, a heel piece, and a pedal plate installed between the frame main body and the heel piece. The frame main body is provided with a beater that makes a pivotal motion to beat a drum particularly a bass drum head when the pedal plate is depressed by the player. A connecting board which is to be placed on the floor is installed between the frame main body and the heel piece so that the frame main body is connected to the front end of the connecting board in a horizontally rotatable fashion. Thus, the frame main body is rotated to be set in any desired direction so as to comply with the orientation of the drum head, allowing the beater to strike the drum head at right angles.

  • Patent number: 5540131
Abstract: In a foot pedal for a drum, the beater pivots so as to strike the drum head when a pedal board is depressed by the player. The beater is provided on a rocker which is rotatable on a horizontal shaft and is connected to a pedal board via a belt that transfers the pedal depression force from the pedal board to the rocker so that rocker rotates to pivot the beater. A feeling adjustment member is detachably provided on the rocker. The feeling adjustment member is movable in the direction of the length of the belt on the peripheral surface of the rocker, and when the distance from the center of rotation of the rocker to the pedal depressing force transmission member is changed by moving the feeling adjustment member, the feeling of the depth of the depression of the pedal board is changed.
