    Abstract: At the time of low temperature start up of a direct injection gasoline engine internal combustion engine, a pressure adjustment function of a low pressure pressure regulator is stopped, so that all of the fuel pumped from a low pressure fuel pump is supplied to a high pressure fuel pump. Moreover, the fuel from a high pressure fuel system is returned directly to a fuel tank. Hence vapor produced while the engine is stopped is discharged together with the fuel.
