  • Patent number: 5701599
Abstract: Whether or not the reception condition of a received broadcast is good is detected by a reception condition detection unit. If it is detected that the reception condition is good, the broadcast content in the good reception condition is displayed on a display unit. However, if it is detected that the reception condition is not good, another broadcast content in a good reception condition is automatically received, and the broadcast content in the good reception condition is displayed on the display unit. The reception condition is evaluated in a plurality of stages depending on the reception condition of the received broadcast, and the evaluation result is displayed. If it is detected that the reception condition is not good, power supply to an apparatus main body is stopped after an elapse of a predetermined period of time. After an elapse of another predetermined period of time, the reception condition detection unit detects again whether or not a good reception condition is attained.

  • Patent number: 5479219
Abstract: If it is determined that a current time when a power switch is operated manually is equal to or close to a reservation time indicated by preset reservation time data, a power source automatically starts supplying a power source current to individual circuits of a broadcasting receiving apparatus main body. Otherwise, supply of a power source current to the individual circuits is not performed. This prevents a receiving unit from unnecessarily receiving a broadcasting electric wave. When completion of broadcasting of all broadcasting contents of a broadcasting program is detected, the power source stops supplying the power source current to the individual circuits of the broadcasting receiving apparatus main body. This also prevents the receiving unit from unnecessarily receiving a broadcasting electric wave.

  • Patent number: 5274798
Abstract: In a normal state, a time counting process and a key input process are performed in accordance with an oscillation signal of 38.4 KHz generated by a crystal oscillator. In a data communication mode, a process for exchanging data with an external appliance is performed in accordance with a frequency-divided signal of the above oscillation signal and received data are stored in a memory simultaneously in a high speed process under control of an oscillation signal of 800 KHz generated by a CR oscillator. A power source circuit provides a high power source voltage, preventing all circuits from a defective operation while the high speed process is performed since the high speed process can decrease a power source voltage.

  • Patent number: 4901294
Abstract: In an electronic time measuring apparatus combined with a timepiece, acoustic data such as voice information related to the time measurements can be recorded in relation to the measured time data, for instance, split times and lap times the electronic time measuring apparatus includes: a time measuring circuit for counting a reference signal so as to obtain time data; a display unit for displaying the time data acquired by the time measuring circuit; a start/stop controlling circuit for controlling a start/stop of the counting operation for the reference signal by the time measuring means; a switch operable while the counting operation by the time measuring circuit is carried out under the control of the start/stop control means; an intermediate time data memory for storing intermediate time data measured by the time measuring circuit when the switch operation by the switch is performed; a recording circuit coupled to the switch, capable of recording acoustic information externally supplied thereto when the s

  • Patent number: 4774697
Abstract: In an electronic time-keeping apparatus wherein a plurality of schedule data is stored, chronologically readable, and displayed, schedule data input from a key input section is compared, under control of a read only memory, with a number of schedule data already stored in a random access memory, and edited in a time sequence of recency with a present date as a reference basis to permit the edited schedule data to be stored in this random access memory. A time count operation is performed each time a predetermined timing signal is output from a frequency dividing circuit. A detection is made as to whether or not there is a coincidence between present date data obtained by the time count operation and the edited schedule data stored in the random access memory to see if an appointed date is reached.

  • Patent number: 4751668
Abstract: A portable electronic memorandum device has a memory for storing character data items. When a switch is operated, all the address areas of the memory are designated so as to sequentially read out all the character data items stored therein. All the character data items are then sequentially displayed on a display. After all the character data items stored in all the address areas are sequentially displayed on the display, the address of the memory is updated by the operation of switches, thus performing an edit operation of the character data items.
