    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for purifying a polymer, by which a reduction in molecular weight of the polymer can be suppressed, and a residual catalyst in the polymer can be reduced effectively. The polymer containing the residual catalyst is brought into contact with an organic solvent containing an organic acid that has a pKa in the range of 2 to 3.9. Thus, the catalyst remaining in the polymer can be reduced, and the polymer can be purified. The organic acid can be, for example, lactic acid.
