  • Patent number: 7457000
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique capable of promptly and easily acquiring object color component data of a plurality of subjects even if the spectral distribution of light illuminating said plurality of subjects is not known in advance. For example, under predetermined conditions of irradiating a subject with predetermined illumination light by using an electronic flash, an image input system captures an image of a first subject to thereby acquire first color image data. On the basis of the acquired first color image data, the image input system estimates first object color component data of the first subject. After that, the image input system captures an image of the first subject in unknown illumination environments to thereby acquire second color image data. By using the first object color component data and the second color image data, the image input system estimates the spectral distribution of unknown illumination.

  • Patent number: 7415612
Abstract: An image decrypting apparatus derives spectral reflectance of the face of an original on the basis of obtained original image data, built-in light source data and basis function data, and obtains weighted coefficients of each pixel as object color component data. The apparatus stores a file including the basis function data used at the time of obtaining the spectral reflectance as a key file, and stores a file including the object color component data as an encrypted file. From each of the key file and the encrypted file, the original image data cannot be reproduced. By using the key file and the encrypted file in a correct combination, the original image data can be reproduced. In such a manner, the original image data can be protected.

  • Patent number: 7127102
Abstract: From profiles of an input color space and an output color space, the specific color data on respective color spaces are obtained, and a color space compression parameter is set based on each specific color data obtained. In other words, the color space compression parameter for appropriately converting data within the input color space into data within the output color space is derived from each specific color data. The color space compression processing (color matching) is performed on an absolute color space using the derived color space compression parameter so that it becomes possible to perform at a higher speed an appropriate color matching that takes into account the characteristics of the input color space and the output color space.

  • Patent number: 7006105
Abstract: The gray axis of an input apparatus is shifted so as to match the gray axis of an output apparatus. Each data on a plane of equal lightness located in the Gamut of the input apparatus is shifted in the same direction in accordance with the shift of the gray axis by an amount of shifting smaller in proportion to greater distance from the gray axis. Therefore, the image is not governed by the chromaticness in the shifting direction even if the gray axis is shifted. Points located outside the Gamut of the output apparatus is compressed-converted into points within the Gamut (surface) where color difference is minimized while maintaining the lightness. A desired image is reproduced without inversion in the lightness after Gamut compression between data.

  • Patent number: 7002624
Abstract: First image data is obtained by performing an image capturing operation with a flash and, subsequently, second image data is obtained by performing an image capturing operation without a flash. By using data of a differential image between the first and second image data and a relative spectral distribution of flash light, the spectrum reflectivity in a position on a subject corresponding to each pixel is obtained and object-color component data is acquired as data from which an influence of an illumination environment has been removed. On the other hand, illuminant component data indicative of spectral distributions of a plurality of illumination light are prepared. By combining arbitrary illuminant component data to the obtained object-color component data, an image with a different illumination environment can be reproduced.

  • Publication number: 20040174433
Abstract: In a computer, a number of pieces of object-color component data each indicative of spectral reflectance of the subject are stored. First, a plurality of pieces of object-color component data to be compared are selected. The same illuminant component data indicative of a spectral distribution of illumination light is combined into each of the selected plurality of pieces of object-color component data, thereby generating a plurality of pieces of composite image data. The composite image data is further subjected to adjustment of brightness and adjustment of the size of the subject and the resultant data is displayed on a display. By the operation, images of the subject are reproduced with the same spectral distribution and the same intensity of illumination light and the same scaling.

  • Publication number: 20030117435
Abstract: A profile creating system has, as profile creating modes, a display mode for the purpose of creating a profile of a display and a printer mode for the purpose of creating a profile of a printer, and one of the modes can be selected. In the display mode, the screen of the display displaying a predetermined reference image is captured by a digital camera, and a computer creates a profile on the basis of the captured image. On the other hand, in the printer mode, a predetermined reference image is printed by the printer, the printed image is photographed by the digital camera, and the computer creates a profile on the basis of the captured image. In such a manner, both of a profile of the display and that of the printer can be created at low cost.

  • Patent number: 6580459
Abstract: A digital camera is provided with an optical filter unit 43 which is movable in the slide direction SL in front of the CCD 41, and infrared light emitters 25 and 32 for emitting near-infrared light. The optical filter 43 has an infrared cut filter 45 for cutting light in the infrared range, and a visible light cut filter for selectively transmitting light of the infrared range by cutting light in the visible light range. While maintaining the identicalness of the main object, the infrared cut filter 45 is disposed above the CCD 41 to acquire visible light image data via the CCD 41, and the object is irradiated with infrared light emitted from the infrared emitters 25 and 32, and the visible light cut filter is disposed above the CCD 41 to acquire infrared image data, i.e., non-visible light image data, by the CCD 41. As a result, a visible light image and a non-visible light image are easily acquired of the same object.

  • Publication number: 20020080148
Abstract: Data of a three-dimensional model and data of a two-dimensional image (object color component data) are combined and managed as a single file so as to paste a two-dimensional image (object color component image) excluding the influence of illumination light on the surface of a three-dimensional model. As a result, the illumination environment of the three-dimensional model can be easily modified by the illumination data in this file (object color component data).
