  • Patent number: 5202199
Abstract: This invention relates to the battery and its marking process with desired designs marked on the surface of a metal container consisting of case and cover containing battery system elements within and an external metal jacket by scanning pulse laser beams and leaving a certain arrangement of dotted irradiated traces. The above marking process is suitable for inscribing finely detailed marks on small-sized batteries extensively marketed these days. Also, this process can handle frequent changes of inscription to be marked quickly and economically without losing superior clarity. Moreover, the industrial benefit will be further increased by combining it with the existing mechanical marking process, using convex dies for stamps.

  • Patent number: 5156930
Abstract: A battery equipped with an opening-sealing device for sealing an opening of a battery case. The opening-sealing device has a dish-like sealing plate having a downwardly protruding portion with a valve through-hole, a valve provided on the dish-like sealing plate so as to cover the valve through-hole, and a terminal cap provided on the valve having a cutter protruded downwardly toward the valve. The valve and terminal cap are firmly held by the dish-like sealing plate with a circumferential portion of the dish-like sealing plate being bent inwardly to the valve and the terminal cap. The valve has a three-layer construction comprising a metallic thin plate, a non-adhesion type resin film, and a heat-adhesion type resin film.

  • Patent number: 4965148
Abstract: A packed battery includes a frame composed of a pair of substantially I-shaped frame members molded of synthetic resin and joined together to hold therein a power generating elements composed of a plurality of series-connected cells, and an end cap molded of synthetic resin and joined with the frame to close an open end of the frame. One of the frame members has in its one end face a pair of apertures through which a pair of external terminals is inserted for connection to positive and negative terminal end faces of the power generating element. With this construction, the packed battery has a high capacity per unit volume and the external terminals and the positive and negative terminal end faces can be welded easily and efficiently. Accordingly, the packed battery can be manufactured at a high rate of production.
