  • Patent number: 6473112
Abstract: The invention concerns an image forming apparatus provided with an automatic writing-position determining device for forming an image always at a correct position on the recording material. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming section to form an image by writing each of scanning lines, an end position detecting section to detect an end position of a recording material in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording material, and a selecting section to select either an automatic writing-position determining mode or a predetermined writing-position determining mode. When the selecting section selects the automatic writing-position determining mode, the image forming section commences an image writing action from a writing start position determined on the basis of a detected result of the end position detecting device.

  • Patent number: 6342909
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a writing device for writing an image on the basis of image data thereof; a controller for controlling a writing position in a primary scanning direction by the writing device; a conveying device for conveying a recording material; and a position detecting sensor for detecting an edge of the recording material, which is conveyed by the conveying device in the primary scanning direction as an absolute position. The controller determines the writing position in the primary scanning direction by the writing device on the basis of a position of the edge of the recording material in the primary scanning direction detected by the position detecting sensor, and controls the writing position of the writing device in the primary scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 6340984
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has: an image memory for storing image data; an image recording device having an image recording position for recording an image onto a recording material at the image recording position; a conveying device for conveying the recording material to the image recording position; and an image correction device for correcting an angle of the image data in accordance with inclination of the recording material conveyed to the image recording position. An image is recorded on the recording material by the image recording device on the basis of the image data corrected by the image correction device.

  • Patent number: 6249334
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a recording material accommodating device for accommodating recording materials; an image forming device for forming an image on the recording material; a conveyance section for conveying the recording material fed from the recording material accommodating device to the image forming device; a reversal and re-feeding device having a sheet reversal section and a sheet re-feeding section for conducting image formation on two sides of the recording material. After the image is formed by the image forming device on one side surface of the recording material conveyed from the recording material accommodating device through the conveyance section, the recording material is conveyed to the reversal and re-feeding device, and conveyed again to the image forming device through the sheet re-feeding section of the reversal and re-feeding device and the conveyance section, and an image is formed on the other side surface of the recording material by the image forming device.

  • Patent number: 5117256
Abstract: In a method for compensating a variable image magnification in an optical zoom system, a magnified image is formed on a focal surface by projecting a document image through a projection lens and onto mirrors provided to an optical path length adjusting device. The position of the projection lens and the optical path length adjusting device are compensated so that an actual image magnification is the same as a selected nominal image magnification. An optional nominal magnification within a predetermined variable magnification range is selected. At least one of the projection lens and the variable optical path length adjusting device is moved so as to be in focus and then an actual image magnification at a position where the projection lens is in focus is measured. An actual focal length of the projection lens is calculated from the measured magnification according to equations with respect to magnification, focal length, principal points and so on.

  • Patent number: 4650176
Abstract: In an automatic sheet reversing apparatus having a convey/reversing section with a plurality of conveyor belts, a stacking/moving section with a stopper for stopping a leading end of a reversed sheet, and a feed section, the stopper is located below the conveyor belts. The upper portion of the stopper is located above the lower surface of the conveyor belt.
