  • Patent number: 4118713
Abstract: At the side of the camera body, switches for treating the totally opened F value information of the photographic lens as coded digital information of a certain determined number of bits are connected to the digital exposure operation circuit. At the side of each of the photographic lens which is made interchangeable for the camera body, a signal pin is arranged for indicating the totally opened F value proper to the photographic lens as coded digital information of the above mentioned determined number of bits in such a manner that at the time of mounting the photographic lens on the camera body, the switches at the side of the camera body are closed in selected combination in accordance with the totally opened F value of the lens. Accordingly the totally opened F value of the photographic lens is put into the digital exposure operation circuit.

  • Patent number: 4106040
Abstract: A camera of the type in which the shutter actuator is operated by means of an electromagnet or a permanent magnet associated with a solenoid has a film winding mechanism and a shutter tensioning mechanism operatively connected with each other through an improved interconnecting mechanism which includes a cam arrangement and a switching arrangement for the electromagnet or the solenoid. The cam arrangement is constructed as having complementary camming surfaces to facilitate the minimization of dimensions of the interconnecting mechanism. During the film winding or shutter tensioning operation, the electromagnet or the solenoid is rendered inoperative or operative respectively by the switching arrangement to thereby reduce the torque of a single operating member for the film winding and shutter tensioning mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4096493
Abstract: A photographic camera having a manually and automatically adjustable diaphragm is provided with an electromagnetically operated diaphragm scanning mechanism in combination with a manually operable depth of field pre-viewing device to enable a visual determination of the utilizable zone of sharpness in a reflex viewfinder of the camera regardless of the fact that the camera remains in the run down position. For this purpose, the diaphragm scanning mechanism includes a scanning member and a driving member arranged to establish driving connection therebetwen during the automatic adjustment of the diaphragm. Release means is provided and is responsive to the termination of closing operation of the camera shutter for effecting release of the driving connection, whereby the photographer before cocking the camera is enabled to manipulate the diaphragm followed by the pre-viewing device to read off the range of sharpness in dependence on the manual setting of the diaphragm for use in making a subsequent exposure.

  • Patent number: 4092652
Abstract: The analog signal corresponding to the brightness of the object to be photographed is converted into a digital signal by means of an A-D converter while a shutter control means adjust the shutter mechanism in accordance with the digital signal stored in the A-D converter whereby at the same time, a digital information indicating circuit indicates digitally the digital signal stored in the A-D converter. Hereby, the digital information indicating circuit is connected with the timing pulse forming circuit in such a manner that the indication circuit repeats the indication by means of the timing pulse forming circuit with a period allowing the photographer to visually recognize the digital information of the indicating circuit.

  • Patent number: 4090208
Abstract: In the camera exposure control apparatus disclosed, a light sensor produces a first analog signal corresponding to the brightness of an object to be photographed. This signal is compared to a gradually varying second analog signal. The variation of the second analog signal is discontinued when the first and second signals reach a predetermined relationship and the second analog signal is stored. As the aperture of the camera's diaphragm is varied, the stored signal is compared with an analog signal corresponding to the diaphragm opening to produce a control signal that inhibits aperture variation when the latter compared signals reach a predetermined relationship.

  • Patent number: 4089011
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exposure information setting device for a camera having a digital control system in which the aperture value of the lens is applied to the exposure amount control circuit as digital information by means of the aperture value setting mechanism. The device is so designed that the first comb tooth shaped conductor pattern and the second comb tooth shaped conductor pattern are arranged in parallel with each other in such a manner that a phase difference takes place between them. A pair of series of pulses are obtained by making the contact in functional engagement with the aperture value setting operation, moving slidingly over the first and the second conductor patterns. The direction along which the aperture value information varies is detectable by applying the pair of series of pulses thus obtained to the exposure operational circuit through the phase sorting circuit.

  • Patent number: 4089010
Abstract: A photographing information display circuit for a camera which performs digital computation of information relative to exposure, etc. and displays the computed digital values. The display of the digital value computed is effected through an analog display circuit such as a meter circuit by an extremely simplified circuit arrangement, without using any D-A conversion circuit such as a ladder circuit or the like. The invented display circuit arrangement minimizes the electric power requirement for display to solve the problem of electric power consumption for display in small-sized camera.

  • Patent number: 4081813
Abstract: An apparatus for setting an exposure control factor into a camera in the form of a digital signal without using a code plate or a plurality of switches. A pulse train is fed to a binary counter through an AND circuit which, upon selective receipt of gating-on and gating-off signals, operates to initiate and terminate flow of pulses therethrough respectively. When the counter has counted the selected number of pulses, the photographer who is viewing a digital display unit cooperative with the counter to detect this pulse number may actuate a button to produce the gating-off signal, thereby a corresponding desired value of the exposure control factor is set into the camera as a function of the number of pulses counted.

  • Patent number: 4064515
Abstract: A number of separate comparators compare respective analog inputs to a single reference waveform and turn off respective gates when the analog voltages achieve predetermined relationships to reference wave form. The gates pass pulses from a common source from the beginning of the reference wave form until the respective gates are shut off. In one version the analog signals represent photographic data such as diaphragm aperture and shutter speed in a camera, and are digitized for display within the camera.

  • Patent number: 4057809
Abstract: This invention relates to photographic cameras, and more particularly to an exposure control circuit of the type in which an analog output representative of the object brightness level is converted to a digital signal which is factored into an exposure value, and the period of actuation of the camera shutter is controlled in accordance with this exposure value. Still more particularly, it relates to an improvement over this conventional type exposure control with respect to the A-D conversion. The prior art converts a voltage representative of the object brightness to a digital form by the use of an A-D converter such as of the follow comparison type which is characterized by the lack of integrating aspect in converting the input voltage to the corresponding digital signal.
