Abstract: A shift lever device includes a housing fixed to a vehicle body, and a shift lever swingably supported on the housing. The shift lever includes a tubular member, a rod disposed in the tubular member and having a spring support portion at an axially intermediate part thereof, a spring support sleeve fixedly disposed in the tubular member and having a spring support surface at a lower end thereof, and a spring placed around the rod and between the spring support portion of the rod and the spring support surface of the spring support sleeve so as to urge the rod to lockingly engage at a lower end with the housing.
