  • Patent number: 7447730
Abstract: An image forming apparatus such as a copier and an air conditioner communicate with one another in a network. The air conditioner provides information regarding ambient temperature and/or humidity to the image forming apparatus. Based upon this information, the image forming apparatus selectively activates systems within the apparatus that regulate its internal temperature and humidity levels, to thereby achieve power savings. The image forming apparatus provides information regarding its operation state to the air conditioner. The air conditioner uses this information to adjust its heating or cooling operations to compensate for the heat generated by the image forming apparatus when it is operating.

  • Patent number: 7158739
Abstract: In an image forming operation, communication with a non-contact type data storage circuit is established by a communication signal of a first percentage modulation, and when not in an image forming operation, communication with a non-contact type data storage circuit is established by a communication signal of a second percentage modulation smaller than the first percentage modulation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 2004
Date of Patent: January 2, 2007
Assignee: Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4968353
Abstract: A method for refining a sugar liquor by cristobalite and an ion exchange resin, and a method for refining the sugar liquor by a novel ion exchange resin refining system, are disclosed. Cristobalite exhibits specific adsorbant properties for various colloidal or suspended substances, while the ion exchange resin exhibits superior decoloring and desalting properties with respect to colorants and salts. By combining refining by cristobalite and refining by the ion exchange resin, there is provided a sugar refining system whereby even non-washed sugar liquor may be refined. The ion exchange resin refining system of the present invention includes three series of adsorption towers.
