  • Publication number: 20050219602
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for supplying print data to a printing apparatus that performs printing with recording agents. The image processing apparatus includes a print-data generation unit for generating a predetermined group of print data for continuous printing, a remaining-amount detection unit for detecting the remaining amount of each of the recording agents, and a comparison unit for obtaining an estimated consumption of at least one of the recording agents required to print the print data if the one recording agent is substituted for another recording agent to perform printing and comparing the estimated consumption with the remaining amount of the corresponding recording agent. The image processing apparatus further includes a print control unit for controlling the printing apparatus to print the print data if the remaining amount of at least the one recording agent exceeds its estimated consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050219610
Abstract: An information processing apparatus connected to a printing apparatus via a network encrypts print data if identification information is input, and does not encrypt print data if identification information is not input. If identification information is input and the print data has been encrypted, the information processing apparatus sends a print job including the encrypted print data to the printing apparatus via the network; otherwise, the information processing apparatus sends unencrypted print data to the printing apparatus via the network.

  • Patent number: 6795217
Abstract: The density unevenness peculiar to a printer unit is corrected in advance in a reader unit regardless of selection of rotative or non-rotative processing of an output image. The counter instructs a pixel address, which corresponds to the rotative or the non-rotative processing of the output image, to a head shading gamma table number designation table. A table number is input from the head shading gamma table number designation table by a head shading gamma conversion table which stores a head shading gamma table corresponding to a characteristic peculiar to the printer unit and multivalue image data is density converted in accordance with the table number.

  • Patent number: 6476793
Abstract: A more-natural-looking video is reproduced and a video data having a desired color tone is formed by preserving the tone of a video as an original in color conversion at a desired ratio. To this end, a criterion color register stores color information (hue, chroma and density) for determining whether input pixel data is eligible for conversion, a target color register stores color information indicative of a target color, and a preservation degree register stores a preservation degree that determines the degree of preservation in color conversion. A color determination section determines whether the input pixel data is eligible for conversion, and the determination result is output to a color converter section. The color converter section performs color conversion to eligible pixel data according to the information stored in the criterion color register, target color register and preservation degree register, with the result of the color conversion being output.

  • Publication number: 20010035889
Abstract: The invention solves a problem of nonuniformities in density produced corresponding to a particular density level, especially due to density characteristics differing according to the density level, in a technique for correcting the nonuniformities in density of an image recorded by a recording head having plural recording elements arranged therein. Nonuniformities in density differently produced according to the density level can be effectively corrected by the steps of preparing a correction table group with correction differing according to the density level; correcting nonuniformities in density according to a test pattern with a predetermined density in advance; further recording test patterns corresponding to plural densities; and enabling the correction table group to be determined corresponding to the production of the nonuniformities according to the density level.

  • Patent number: 5987166
Abstract: It is an object to provide an image processing apparatus which can obtain an image reproduction that accurately corresponds to an original color when an ordinary color original is read and which can obtain an accurate marker edition result when a marker original is read. When a color scanning mode to read the color image is selected, an original ground removal by a prescan is not performed. When a marker edition scanning mode to read the marker original is selected, the original ground removal is executed. Thus, a color reproduction which accurately corresponds to the original is executed in the color scanning mode. In the marker edition scanning mode, the color recognition of the marker color is accurately performed without being influenced by the ground color.

  • Patent number: 5974171
Abstract: An image processing apparatus prevents the misdetermination of a read color and allows correct marker edition. A marker registration circuit reads and register color data marked by a predetermined color marker and a color determination circuit compares the color data registered and the read color data at the reading of the document sheet to determine a color code of the marker color. An area determination circuit determines whether an area being read belongs to a normal area, a line area or a paint area and an output color determination circuit determines a color to be outputted in accordance with the color code and the area being read.

  • Patent number: 5892596
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a reading unit, a determining unit, a converting unit, a recording unit, and a control unit. The reading unit moves sensors corresponding to a predetermined number of pixels aligned along a sub-scanning direction in a main scanning direction to read an image having a predetermined width of an original. The determining unit determines an area designated by a marker in the original in accordance with pixel data of a pixel read by the reading unit and pixel data of pixels surrounding the pixel. The converting unit converts the pixel data of the pixel read by the reading unit in accordance with a determination result from the determining unit. The recording unit drives recording elements corresponding to the predetermined number of pixels aligned along the sub-scanning direction in accordance with pixel data from the converting unit and moving the recording elements in the main scanning direction to record the image having the predetermined width on a sheet.

  • Patent number: 5854687
Abstract: A recording apparatus has an image scanner, which reciprocates along a main-scanning direction to read an original image and a recording head, which also reciprocates along the main scanning direction to record an image. To avoid slanting the recorded image by the reciprocating motion, the recording head has a plurality of recording elements which are aligned at a predetermined slanted angle to the subscanning direction of the recording head.

  • Patent number: 5805295
Abstract: A sensor produces an image signal indicative of the image of an original. The image signal is subjected to various types of processing by units ranging from an A/D converter 3 to a space filter 13. In an ordinary operating mode, the processing signal is subjected to a .gamma. conversion by a .gamma. conversion table set by a controller 21. If a gradation processing mode has been designated by the user, gradation processing is executed by a gradation processing conversion table set by the controller 21.

  • Patent number: 5767892
Abstract: 278 An image recording apparatus, which records an image on a recording medium by performing a sub-scan operation by conveying the recording medium by a predetermined amount upon completion of each main scan operation of a recording unit, is disclosed. The apparatus stops a convey operation of the recording medium after a first image is recorded on the recording medium. When a recording start command is generated within a predetermined period of time after the convey operation is stopped, a re-convey operation of the recording medium is started in response to this command, and a second image is recorded by the recording unit on the recording medium on which the first image is recorded. When the recording start command is not generated within the predetermined period of time, the recording medium on which the first image is recorded is automatically ejected.A plurality of images can be synthesized on a single recording medium before the medium is ejected without using a large-capacity memory.

  • Patent number: 5629771
Abstract: A copying machine in which an image scanner reciprocates along a main-scanning direction to read an original image, and a recording head of a printer also reciprocates along the main-scanning direction to record an image. To avoid slanting the recorded image by the reciprocating motion of the recording head, and to achieve high-speed printing, nozzles of the recording head are aligned in a line slanted with respect to a subscanning direction. Thus, image data read by the image scanner is real-time converted to a recording signal and supplied as a nozzle driving signal to the recording head.

  • Patent number: 4905040
Abstract: A board copying apparatus comprising a writing board unit carrying a sheet which enables an image to be written thereon, a copying unit capable of forming, on a recording material, a copy image of an image carried by an original, and also capable of forming, on the recording material, a copy image of the image written on the sheet of the board means, a first density setting device for setting the density of the copy image of the image on the board unit, and a second density setting device for setting the density of the copy image of the image on the original.
