    Abstract: A bimetal is disclosed having a high, rapid deflection over a specified temperature range, including a high expansion metal alloy component having a high thermal expansion coefficient that changes rapidy at 50.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. or greater at a temperature of between about 100.degree. C. and 250.degree. C. and containing from 15-30% by weight of manganeses, the balance of iron. The second component has a substantially constant thermal expansion coefficient regardless of the temperature change, and is preferably a stainless steel. These bimetals are used in circuit breakers, thermal protectors and the like.

    Abstract: A peelable adhesive structure comprises a plurality of articles, including at least one metal article, bonded together through a composite coating layer. The composite coating layer comprises adjacent first and second coating layers, the first coating layer containing vinyl resin, and the second coating layer containing epoxy resin. At least one of the coating layers comprises:(a) a peeling imparter at a concentration of between about 50 and 200 parts by weight per 100 parts of resin, and(b) a substantially linear saturated polyester wetting improver at a concentration of between about 2 and 50 parts per 100 parts of resin and having a molecular weight of between about 5,000 and about 50,000.Alternatively, at least one of the coating layers comprises a hydrocarbon or natural resin having a softening point less than 180.degree. C. and having a concentration between about 50 and 200 parts per 100 parts of resin.

    Abstract: A peelable bonded structure having a peel strength of 0.05 to 5 kg/cm comprises a plurality of articles, at least one of which is made of metal, bonded together through a composite coating layer. The composite coating layer is composed of adjacent first and second coating layers at least one of which comprises (A) a modified olefin resin having a carbonyl group concentration of 0.01 to 200 milliequivalents per 100 g of the olefin resin and (B) a coating film-forming base resin at an (A)/(B) weight ratio of from 0.2/99.8 to 40/60 and has a multi-layer distribution structure having resin concentration gradients in the thickness direction such that the modified olefin resin (A) is distributed predominantly in the portion contiguous to the interface between the two coating layers and the base resin (B) is distributed predominantly in the opposite portion.

    Abstract: When a polyolefin layer is bonded to a metal substrate through a primer layer, if a polar group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer-modified olefin resin (A) having a specific polar group concentration and a specific degree of crystallinity and a coating film-forming base resin (B) are incorporated at a specific ratio into a specific mixed solvent to form a paint and the primer layer is formed by using this paint, there is obtained a novel multi-layer distribution structure comprising the base resin distributed predominantly in the portion of the primer layer contiguous to the surface of the metal substrate and the modified olefin resin distributed predominantly in the portion of the primer layer contiguous to the polyolefin layer and having a concentration gradient of the two components (A) and (B) in the thickness direction.

    Abstract: A peelable bonded structure comprising a metal substrate and a polyolefin layer bonded to the substrate through a primer layer, wherein the primer layer is a composition comprising (A) a modified olefin resin having a carbonyl group concentration of 0.01 to 200 milliequivalents per 100 g of the olefin resin and (B) a coating film-forming base resin at an (A)/(B) weight ratio of from 0.1/99.8 to 70/30. The primer layer has in at least one first planar region thereof a multi-layer distribution structure having a resin concentration gradient in the thickness direction such that the modified olefin resin (A) is distributed predominantly in the portion of the primer layer contiguous to the polyolefin layer and the base resin (B) is distributed predominantly in the portion of the primer layer contiguous to metal substrate, and in at least one second planar region the modified olefin resin (A) is distributed in the portion of the primer layer contiguous to the polyolefin layer at a lower distribution ratio.

These novel compounds are easily produced and are useful as perfumes and as interrelated intermediates for the production of terpenoid compounds.

The isomerization reaction may be catalyzed by an acid or a transition metal of Group 6B, 7B or 8 of the Periodic Table of Elements, or a compound thereof. The 1,1,1-trihalogeno-4-methyl-3-penten-2-ol thus prepared is useful as a synergist for herbicides or a physiologically active compound, and, additionally, is useful as a starting material for the synthesis of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2',2'-dihalogenovinyl)-cyclopropane carboxylic esters which are active ingredients of insecticides.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a process for preparing unsaturated ketones especially terpenoid ketones, by subjecting a substituted propargyl alcohol of formula (II) ##STR1## wherein R is a group containing 1 or 2 substituted or unsubstituted alkyl- or alkylene units containing 4 carbon atoms each to a thermal treatment sufficient to rearrange its structure in order to obtain structurally isomeric unsaturated ketones of formula I ##STR2## wherein one of the substituents X.sub.3 and X.sub.4 is hydrogen and the other and Z.sub.2 together form a bond. The process can be effected in the presence of an isomerization catalyst, which leads to high percentage of .alpha...beta.,.gamma...delta.-unsaturated ketones. The ketones of formula I are useful as perfumes and as intermediates for the production of terpenoid compounds.
