  • Patent number: 4883548
Abstract: According to the present invention, a plurality of first lens elements each having specific lens optical values and a plurality of second lens elements each having specific lens optical values are kept in stock; each one of the first and second lens elements are selected from those kept in stock, based on optical calculation; and these two lens elements are laminated to form an opthalmic lens meeting a desired prescription. Accordingly, the present invention has advantages such as shortening of the period from order receiving to product delivery.

  • Patent number: 4130672
Abstract: A method for coating silicon oxide SiO film and silicon dioxide SiO.sub.2 film on the surface of transparent optical material of glass or syntheic resin whose refractive indices are varied by changing the condition of vapor-deposition, under a predetermined condition of vapor-deposition so as to form a firm and durable anti-reflection film.

  • Patent number: 4128303
Abstract: A reflection free optical glass coated, in succession, with a medium refractive index layer, such as CeF.sub.3 or Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, a high refractive index layer such as TiO.sub.2, CeO.sub.2 or ZrO.sub.2 which layer contains a plurality of thin layers of MgF.sub.2 of about 10-100A in thickness uniformly interposed in the high refractive index material at intervals of about one eighth of the design wavelength. The outermost coating of the multi-layer optical glass is a low refractive index layer of MgF.sub.2.

  • Patent number: 4076863
Abstract: The decrease in the impact resistance of the chemically pre-strengthened finished ophthalmic lens blanks due to the subsequent cutting and edging process can be prevented by coating the edge with at least one material selected from epoxy resins, alkyd resins, polyurethane resins, unsaturated polyester resins, acrylic resins or cyanoacrylates, polymerization of which can be completed by heating at a temperature of up to 200.degree. C, by single coating, overlap coating or multiple-layer coating, and then polymerizing the edge coating or coatings to form a polymeric film. Also, if a black pigment is added to any of the starting material compositions for said resins, internal reflections from the lens and the resulting myopic rings around the periphery of the lens can also be reduced.
