  • Publication number: 20180127301
Abstract: The development of cracks or breakage in a glass material during production of the glass material by a containerless levitation technique is reduced. A glass material is obtained by heating a levitated block 12 of glass raw material to melting by irradiation of the block 12 of glass raw material with laser light to thus obtain a molten glass and then cooling the molten glass. A first irradiation step and a second irradiation step are performed. In the first irradiation step, the levitated block 12 of glass raw material is heated to melting by irradiating the block 12 of glass raw material with the laser light. In the second irradiation step, an intensity of the laser light being applied to the molten glass is reduced and irradiation with the laser light is then stopped.

  • Patent number: 9841279
Abstract: According to an embodiment, there is provided an apparatus which quantitatively evaluates a braze bonding length. A radiation emission unit emits radiation to each of a plurality of partial specimens which are obtained by cutting a specimen in a plane perpendicular to a braze bonding length direction. A light generator generates light of an amount corresponding to an intensity of transmissive radiation. An imaging unit photographs this light. A calculator calculates a braze bonding length of each of the partial specimens, from a light amount obtained with respect to each of the partial specimens, based on a correlation between a braze bonding length and a light amount. The calculator further calculates the braze bonding length of the specimen by totaling the braze bonding lengths of the respective partial specimens.

  • Publication number: 20170266776
Abstract: An inner cam has a substantially C-shaped cross section, an arcuately shaped inner circumferential surface of which is ground with high precision by such a honing method. The inner circumferential surface has a discontinuous portion. The honing method includes a fixing step and a grinding step. A plurality of inner cams, in which openings are provided between both ends thereof in the circumferential direction, are stacked, and the arcuately shaped inner circumferential surfaces thereof are subjected to grinding. In the fixing step, the relative positions of the plurality of inner cams are fixed such that a resultant force against the inner cams arranged on both end sides in the stacking direction, and a resultant force against the inner cams arranged on a central side in the stacking direction are opposed to each other mutually at a center location of the stacking direction.

  • Publication number: 20170268390
Abstract: A composite profile evaluating method includes an adjusting step and a composite profile detecting step. In the adjusting step, a relative position between a fixed cam and a movable cam is adjusted. In the composite profile detecting step, at least either one of a first contact element, which is displaced along a diametrical direction of the fixed cam upon contacting a cam surface of the fixed cam, and a second contact element, which is displaced integrally with the first contact element and along a diametrical direction of the movable cam upon contacting a cam surface of the movable cam, is brought into contact with the cam surface of the fixed cam or the movable cam. In such a state, the composite profile is obtained by rotating the fixed cam and the movable cam, and detecting the amounts of displacement of the first and second contact elements.
