  • Patent number: 6151461
Abstract: A facsimile device includes an electrophotographic photosensitive body on which a toner image is formed and capable of being brought into contact with a sheet of paper for recording the toner image on the sheet of paper based on received data and a paper feeding device for conveying sheets of paper via a paper feeding system to a transfer position. An image transferring device is provided at the transfer position for transferring a toner image to the sheets of paper conveyed to the transfer position by the paper feeding system at a nip portion formed between the electrophotographic photosensitive body and the sheet of paper. A registration roller controls a timing at which the sheet of paper is conveyed to the transfer position. A pre-registration sensor detects the sheet of paper, conveyed by the paper feeding device, at an upstream side of the registration roller.

  • Patent number: 6101343
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a voltage generating section for generating one of an AC voltage and a voltage obtained by superposing an AC voltage on a DC voltage; an image carrier; and a contact charger for receiving the voltage generated by the voltage generating section and giving a surface potential corresponding to the received voltage to the image carrier by contact. Further, it includes a latent image forming section for forming a latent image by scanning the image carrier with a predetermined scanning period, and a control section for controlling the voltage generating section and the latent image forming section. The control section controls the voltage generating section and the latent image forming section so that a period of an AC component of the voltage generated by the voltage generating section is N times or 1/N times as long as the scanning period, where N is a natural number.

  • Patent number: 5253279
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit includes an input terminal provided for each of input terminals. The input circuit outputs either one of "HIGH" or "LOW" as a frequency dividing ratio setting signal when the corresponding input terminal is "HIGH" or "LOW" in level but outputs another one of "HIGH" and "LOW" as a frequency dividing ratio setting signal when the corresponding input terminal is in an open state. Thus, the frequency dividing ratio of the programmable divider is determined, by fixing the level of only required ones of the input terminals into "HIGH" or "LOW" through, for example, wire bonding in the package while leaving all the others in open state.

  • Patent number: 5214681
Abstract: Judgment means provides a first output alternating signal to a .div.2 frequency-divider and also a frequency-division control signal at a first level to operate the .div.2 frequency-divider, when a first input alternating signal is applied to an input terminal. The first output alternating signal frequency divided by the .div.2 frequency divider is applied to an NOR gate, to which a first gate control signal is applied from the judgment means so as to allow the frequency divided first output alternating signal to pass the NOR gate. When a second input alternating signal is applied to the input terminal, the judgment means provides the frequency-division control signal at a second level to the .div.2 frequency-divider which, in turn, provides a second gate control signal to the NOR gate. At this time, the judgment means also provides a second output alternating signal to the NOR gate. The NOR gate with the second gate control signal applied thereto passes the second output alternating signal therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4905051
Abstract: A fixing means for an electrophotographic copier includes a first roller and a second roller which are compressed against each other and serve to fix toner images on an image transferring medium passed therebetween. A control means is programmed to operate the rollers such that the heating of the second roller is continued for a predetermined length of time or until the surface temperature of the second roller reaches a certain predetermined temperature level after the surface temperature of the first roller reaches another predetermined temperature level such that the second roller is prevented from cooling down suddenly after the fixing operation is started. In another aspect of the present invention, the size of the image transferring medium passed between the rollers is detected and the heaters for the rollers are controlled accordingly such that temperature variations on the roller surfaces can be reduced and hence the roller lifetimes can be improved.
