Abstract: A method for treating a TRPV1-mediated disease by administering to a patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound or a salt thereof having the following formula [I]: wherein A represents a lower alkylene group or a lower alkenylene group; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group or an unsubstituted or substituted alkenyl group; and R2 and R3 are the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted lower alkyl group or a lower alkyl group substituted by a monocyclic cycloalkyl group, a polycyclic cycloalkyl group or an aryl group.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to find a novel pharmacological action of a urea compound having a structure represented by the general formula [I]. The urea compound having a structure represented by the general formula [I] or a salt thereof has an excellent therapeutic effect on a TRPV1-mediated disease. In the formula, A represents a lower alkylene group or a lower alkenylene group; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent or an alkenyl group which may have a substituent; and R2 and R3 are the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group which may be substituted by a monocyclic cycloalkyl group, a polycyclic cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group.

Abstract: There is disclosed an interference spectrophotometer which collects data while monitoring the position of a movable mirror by providing quadrature control to accurately perform coherent addition of data. The spectrophotometer includes a main interferometer, a control interferometer, a sliding controller controlling movement of the movable mirror, an A/D converter converting analog data obtained by the main interferometer into digital form, a register for holding data obtained by one scan of the movable mirror, a memory for accumulating data obtained by numerous scans of the movable mirror, an up/down counter receiving the output signals from two detectors included in the control interferometer, and a decision part. When the counter's value varies, the counter causes the A/D converter to perform its A/D conversion. Then, the decision part checks the counter's value after the A/D conversion.

Abstract: A blood counter comprising a sheathed flow cell; a light source including what has the wavelengths causing absorption of light by hemoglobin in the blood; means for receiving transmitted light; means for receiving the scattered light; a decision assembly for judging, based on the output signals detected by means for receiving the transmitted light and scattered light, (i) the flowing cells therein to be a red blood cell if the degree of absorption is larger than the preselected level and (ii) the other to be a blood platelet if the intensity of the scattered light is larger than a certain level and if the degree of absorption is smaller than said preselected level; and a counter assembly for counting out the red blood cells and blood platelets.
