    Abstract: A less expensive and less bulky motor vehicle performance test apparatus is disclosed which conducts various tests of a motor vehicle, such as a running test of a four-wheel drive vehicle and an evaluation test of a viscous coupling of a four-wheel drive vehicle, The apparatus comprises a synchronizer including a belt drive whereby the peripheral speed of rollers of a front wheel roller assembly is equalized with the peripheral speed of rollers of a rear wheel roller assembly, eddy-current dynamometers fixedly coupled with the front and rear wheel roller assemblies, respectively. An electromagnetic clutch is arranged to interrupt the drive connection by the synchronizer. The electromagnetic clutch is engaged to conduct a running test of a vehicle under test. The clutch is disengaged and excitation current is introduced to at least one of eddy-current dynamometers to conduct an evaluation test of a viscous coupling of a four-wheel drive vehicle.

    Abstract: A motor-driven camera comprising a film winding and rewinding mechanism operable by a starter switch, and a low power consumption type memory unit. The film winding and rewinding mechanism include a transmission changeover gear. For sliding this gear a motor is rotated backward once to eliminate a contact between teeth of the changeover gear and a drive gear operatively connected to the motor. The memory unit includes a flip-flop memory circuit and a switching circuit. The memory circuit shifts from a first state to a second state and remains in the second state when the starter switch is closed. In the second state the memory circuit outputs an operation signal to a transmission mechanism control unit, and returns to the first state upon receipt of a signal output by the control unit when an operation is completed. The switching circuit performs a positive feedback function with respect to the closure of the starter switch.

The feeler needle is elastically flexible in the direction of motion of the pattern card at a portion below the guide member so as to avoid damages to edge portions of the perforations of the pattern card, which damages would otherwise take place due to repeated reciprocation of the feeler needle into and out of the perforations.

    Abstract: The drive force of a motor built in a camera is separately transmitted through respective clutches to a film drive device for one-frame film wind-up and a shutter mechanism for shutter cocking. The film drive mechanism is associated with a detector for detecting completion of the film wind-up operation, while the shutter mechanism is also associated with another detector for detecting completion of the shutter cocking. The detectors generate a "high" or a "low" digital signal corresponding to the detections. A discriminating circuit logically determines whether the wind-up operation is completed, according to the timed relationship between the signals, and detects the end of the film being reached when the film wind-up has not been terminated upon detection of the shutter cocking completion. By this detection, motor drive for film wind-up is stopped, subsequent shutter release is forbidden and motor drive for film rewinding is initiated.

If the detected time is within a predetermined time period, the actuator is made operative to complete the photographing operation with auto-focusing, and if the detected time is longer than the predetermined time period, the photographing operation is carried out without auto-focusing.
