  • Patent number: 4085446
Abstract: A data storage and retrieval system facilitates interface between a human operator and a digital processing system or computer, by first manually selecting visual human word(s) in an identification table overlaid on a display board and next automatically retrieving information by its corresponding address code in conjunction with a magnetic card. Moreover, since the identification table and magnetic card are replaceable from one item block to another item block, numerous arbitrary and repeatable combinations of requested words and their corresponding addresses a different item block can be easily made for many different operators and themes by applying data processing and versatile programming.

  • Patent number: 3988025
Abstract: A record disc cutting apparatus is disclosed wherein cutting vectors are three-dimentionally distributed. The cutter head is cantilevered by a unique support structure. The support structure provides various fulcrum positions therealong for cutter head pivotal motions in response to the driving directions by means of a 45--45 drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3987256
Abstract: Reproducing cartridge apparatus for producing preferably at least three and most advantageously four channels of electrical signals from a multi-channel signal containing grooved record where the sides of the groove are oriented at angles of 45.degree. from the vertical, said reproducing apparatus comprising a stylus adapted to extend into the record groove, at least three and preferably four transducers mounted in spaced angular relationship to one another and responsive to movement of the stylus in various directions for producing electrical signals indicative of the directions of movement imparted to the said stylus as the stylus rides in the record groove. The transducers have main detecting axes spaced in different directions along which axes they are responsive to a maximum degree to movement of the stylus.

  • Patent number: 3940149
Abstract: There is disclosed a tonearm linear-drive apparatus wherein the pivotal point of the tonearm is moved in the linear direction which is parallel with the pickup stylus linearly moving direction across the record disc being played, by using at least a portion of gravity force. A sliding mechanism having the tonearm supported at the pivot point is provided adapted to slide along a linear track by the portion of gravity force in the same direction as that of the linear movement of the pivotal point of the tonearm. A braking mechanism is provided responsive to the above stylus movement and the above pivotal point movement for starting and stopping the above sliding mechanism movement.
