  • Publication number: 20070247474
Abstract: The color and tone of an image of an object are changed to a color and tone desired by a user. Image data including an image of an object is input to image processing means and displayed on a monitor. The user observes the image displayed on the monitor and selects an area including an image of an object having the desired color and tone, and an area including the image of an object whose color and tone are to be changed to the desired color and tone. The image processing means extracts color pixels from each respective specified area and generates cumulative histograms of the color pixels as characteristic quantitative data representing the color and tone. Based on the cumulative histograms, the color-tone of the area including the image of the latter object is changed, and processed image data whose color and tone have been changed is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20070229693
Abstract: When a processed image obtained by performing image processing on an original image is presented, an option desired by a user is presented. A plurality of object regions is detected from an original image to detect the imaged state of each of the object regions when the original image was obtained. Then, an attention level for each object region is calculated based on the imaged state of the object region, and an output condition and an image processing condition are set based on the calculated attention level. Thereafter, a processed image is generated by performing image processing according to the image processing condition, and the processed image is outputted according to the output condition.

  • Patent number: 7251357
Abstract: When a photograph album is generated by laying out images, a background image is set in accordance with the images. Image data sets representing the images are input to background setting means and area ratio calculation means calculates a ratio of an area where a chroma value is not smaller than a predetermined threshold value for an entire area of each image. Setting means finds a ratio of the image data sets whose area ratio is not smaller than a predetermined threshold value to all the image data sets, and sets the background color to white or beige if the ratio is small. If the ratio is large, a hue histogram is generated and the background color is set in accordance with a hue appearing with the largest frequency. Layout means arranges the images on the background to obtain album data. A printer prints the album data.

  • Patent number: 7212674
Abstract: A human face is extracted easily from an image including the face. An image including a human face and a face template comprising data of outlines representing a face shape are displayed on a monitor. A user carries out position matching between the face template and a face area which is an image of the face to be extracted from the image, by moving, transforming and/or rotating the face template through an operation of input means, for example. Extraction means calculates a degree of matching between the face area and the template according to the position matching operation. When the degree of matching exceeds a predetermined threshold value, notice of extraction of the face area is displayed on the monitor. The extracted face area is subjected to processing for converting a color tone thereof.

  • Patent number: 7206445
Abstract: A color and a tone of an image object included in an image are changed to a color and a tone desired by a user. A storage means stores reference image data representing reference images of different colors and tones, and the user selects a target image having a desired color and tone from among the reference images displayed on a monitor. Image data of an image including an image of an object is input to the image processing means and displayed on the monitor. The user views the image displayed on the monitor and specifies an area including an image of an object whose color-tone is to be changed to the color-tone of the target image. The image processing means extracts a color area from the specified area and generates cumulative histograms of the target image and the color area as characteristic quantitative data representing the color and the tone thereof.

  • Patent number: 7034959
Abstract: Upon conversion of density and/or tone of an image, an impression of a specific color in the image is also corrected. Tone conversion is carried out in a CMY color space on image data having been subjected to logarithmic conversion, and density conversion processing is also carried out thereon in density conversion means. The image data are then subjected to inverse logarithmic conversion. In LCH conversion means, the image data are converted into lightness, saturation and hue, and the saturation and/or the hue are corrected by color impression correction means. By converting the data into RGB data by using RGB conversion means, processed image data are obtained.

  • Patent number: 6975437
Abstract: Appropriate color correction is carried out when image data obtained by a digital camera are printed. Correction degrees for lightness, chroma, and hue are set for specific colors R, G, B, C, M, Y, YG, BS, SK(HL), SK(MD), SK(SD) in an image represented by the image data. In an L*a*b* color space, a distance between a center color of each of the specific colors and a color comprising the image represented by the image data is found. Based on the distance, the correction degrees for lightness, chroma and hue of the specific colors are subjected to weighted addition, and correction values for lightness, chroma and hue are obtained. Based on the correction values, lightness, chroma and hue of the image represented by the image data are corrected, and processed image data are obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050036035
Abstract: An image output device judges whether an image processing mode of a first image data set and an image processing mode of a second image data set obtained immediately before the first image data set are the same. If the judgment is YES, the image output device obtains a frequency of photography during obtainment of the first image data set and a time interval between photography of the first image data set and the second image data set. Then, the image output device judges whether a relationship between the frequency and the time interval of photography satisfies a predetermined relationship. If the judgment is NO, the image output device judges that the image processing mode has not been intentionally set. Then, the image output device undoes the image processing, which has already been performed on the first image data set at a digital camera, and performs regular image processing.
