    Abstract: A container having a spout of thermoplastic synthetic resin fixed to an outlet edge portion defining a liquid outlet formed in a top portion of the container. The outlet edge portion of the container is covered with a thermoplastic synthetic resin layer at least over inner and outer surfaces thereof. The spout comprises a tubular body, and inner and outer two outward flanges formed at one end of the tubular body integrally therewith and holding the outlet edge portion of the container therebetween from inside and outside. The inner and outer flanges of the spout are fixed respectively to the inner and outer surfaces of the outlet edge portion of the container.

The positioning apparatus comprises a feeder drivable by a main shaft for transporting the web via the specified position, a detector for detecting the angle of rotation of the main shaft upon the bar code moving past the specified position, and a calculating unit for calculating the deviation of the angle detected by the detector from a predetermined reference angle and determining as an amount of transport by the feeder a set value corresponding to the calculated deviation based on a predetermined relationship between deviations and set values.

The pressing member 46 is attached to a movable body 44. The bearing surface 41 is formed with a tape receiving groove 32 extending widthwise of the tapes and positioned away from a blade bearing portion of the surface longitudinally of the tape. A tape pushing member 48 is so attached to the movable body 44 that one end thereof is movable into or out of the groove 32.

The apparatus comprises a guide roller assembly for transporting the preceding tape via a joining station, a tape end sensor for detecting the tail end of the preceding tape, and a joining device for holding the following tape at its leading end as folded over and opposed to the preceding tape, thermally bonding the tail end of the preceding tape to the folded-over leading end of the following tape in response to a detection signal from the tape end sensor, and cutting off a portion of the resulting joint with only a required length thereof left uncut.

    Abstract: A heat sealing device for a tubular packaging material which is made of a heat-sealable paper-base laminate having an aluminum foil layer and which is to be cut transversely thereof into lengths comprises a U-shaped high-frequency coil provided in a pressing surface of one of a pair of press members and having two straight portions extending in parallel to each other for heating the packaging material at opposite sides of each cutting portion therealong. Two strip-like magnetic members are arranged on the outer side of the respective straight portions and extend approximately over the entire length of the straight portions. Each of the two straight portions has a ridge extending longitudinally of the straight portion at each of two portions of the entire length thereof for individually applying an increased pressure to opposite side edge portions of the material. The ridge has a circular-arc contour in cross section.

    Abstract: A packaging machine for forming a web of packaging material into a vertical tube, filling contents into the tube, dividing the tube into lengths each corresponding to one container and forming each length into a baglike container. The machine comprises a filling device for filling a liquid into the tube to a specified level with the lower end of the tube closed, and a cleaning device for cleaning a required portion of the filling device. The filling device has a vertical filling pipe to be covered with the tube. The cleaning device has a vertical tubular jacket having a top wall and covering the upper portion of the filling pipe, a bottomed tubular cleaner removably connectable to the jacket for covering the lower portion of the filling pipe, and a cleaning liquid collecting duct removably connectable to the jacket. A cleaning liquid is supplied to the filling pipe with the duct connected to the jacket to clean the pipe and is thereafter collected through the duct.

The apparatus includes a device for press-bonding the triangular ears, which comprises a pair of press members and a support member positionable therebetween. Each lateral side trunk portion and each ear folded thereover are clamped between the support member and the press member respectively from inside and outside the blank.
