Patent number: 11966923Abstract: System and method for facilitating account access delegation are provided. Login credentials are authenticated for a first account of a first funding source of a first user. A request from the first user to delegate, to a second account of a second user, access to the first funding source is received. A redirected login request from a merchant web application is further received. The redirected login request corresponds to the second account. A determination is made, based on the received request, that the second account is permissioned to use the first funding source. In response to the determination, a login of the first user account is caused on the merchant web application. The logging in of the first user account on the merchant web application causes the first funding source to be applied to an electronic transaction performed on the merchant web application under control of the second user.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Yona Ju, Fun-Chen Jou

Patent number: 11763372Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for tagging objects in augmented reality to track object data. A user may capture visual data utilizing a device at a location, where the visual data includes one or more objects that the user may wish to associate with a purchase or sell offer. A device may perform object recognition to identify the object and an identifying characteristic of the object. A service provider may then receive offer details and may generate a graphical object or other virtual data that can be displayed with the object in an augmented reality experience. Later, when the object is identified in another augmented reality experience on a different device, the virtual graphic may be displayed, which may show the offer for the object. Further, the augmented reality may be used to process a transaction for the object and track the object.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2022Date of Patent: September 19, 2023Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Yona Ju, Fun-Chen Jou

Patent number: 11762996Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for detection of fraudulent displayable code data during device capture. A user may utilize a computing device to capture data at a certain location, such as imaging a QR code or reading an RFID reader. However, without knowing that those codes or devices are safe, the user make risk a computing attack on their device. Thus, processes herein provide a manner to detect when codes or devices are unsafe based on the additional data detected when encoded data is captured. In such instances, those codes and devices may be detected as fraudulent and the user may receive a warning of malicious computing attacks. Additionally, the user may be guided to valid codes and devices to utilize and may further receive information on removing such computing attacks.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2021Date of Patent: September 19, 2023Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Michael Charles Todasco, Fun-Chen Jou, Adhish Vyas, Megan Marie O′Neill, Yona Ju, Shao-Fei Moy, Haidan Huang

Patent number: 11694439Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for securing virtual objects tracked in an augmented reality experience between multiple devices. A user may capture visual data utilizing a device at a location, where the visual data includes one or more real-world objects. An augmented reality experience may be displayed with the real-world objects, where virtual graphics or other visual indicators are overlaid onto an output of the environment and may be associated with various objects so that the virtual graphics may be seen with the environment. The virtual graphics may further be associated with an amount left by the user for another user, such as a tip or a payment for a service. The other user may be required to complete some task, where the completion of the task may be identified by changes to the real-world objects when the environment is captured by the other user's device.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2022Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Yona Ju, Fun-Chen Jou

Patent number: 11665382Abstract: Embedding of digital tokens within a digital video can occur cryptographically using a public key in some embodiments. The digital video may be altered in a variety of ways so that the video itself contains an integrated token that can represent various quantities. Audiovisual data can be altered to contain both a token and a perceptible user auditory or visual cue as to the presence of the encrypted digital token. A video with an embedded digital token may be sent to users on the Internet. A video recipient may be able to view the video and also take additional action or gain additional functionality from the digital token embedded in the video. Tokens can be embedded by altering video metadata so that the perceptible video content itself is not changed in some embodiments.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventors: Braden Christopher Ericson, Sam Pourcyrous, Fun-Chen Jou, Kaili An

Publication number: 20210328990Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for a credential storage manager for protecting credential security during delegated account use. A first user that controls the account may delegate usage of the account to a second user through a credential manager of a transaction process that manages sensitive authentication information and delegates account usage. The credential manager may automatically fill authentication information for use of the account by the second user. A device fingerprint of a device of the second user may be used to provide risk prevention and access the account. The credential manager may prevent revealing of the credentials and navigation to sensitive data or processes with the account. Two-factor authentication may be performed by receiving a code in a message received by a device of the first user, scraping the code from the message, and entering the code to a device of the second user.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2021Publication date: October 21, 2021Inventors: YONA JU, FUN-CHEN JOU
