  • Publication number: 20080062461
Abstract: A print apparatus monitoring system is provided that the operation state of a plurality of print apparatuses selected and used by a user can be known by resident display. In the method, prints are made by a plurality of print apparatuses connected through a network according to a print instruction from a terminal apparatus, and the operation states of the plurality of the print apparatuses instructed to make prints are displayed as separate icons respectively corresponding to the print apparatuses on a resident displaying portion of the terminal apparatus. For example, occurrence of an error in the print apparatuses is displayed by changing the display form of the corresponding icon. The display of the icon on the resident displaying portion can be displayed at the start of the printing in each print apparatus and can be erased at the end of the printing in each print apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4771382
Abstract: An electronic cash register system of the register-in-line type includes a master machine and a plurality of slave machines which communicate with the master machine. A state determination system is included in each of the slave machines for storing a state indicating signal which indicates whether a reset operation or a read operation has already been conducted to the transaction data registered in the slave machine. When the transaction data is transmitted to the master machine, the state indicating signal is also transmitted to the master machine. Accordingly, the operator of the master machine can monitor the operational states of the respective slave machines.

  • Patent number: 4626990
Abstract: An electronic cash register inhibits registration of information associated with a commodity unless an operator code comprised of a plurality of digits and identifying an operator is inputted. A preset code further allows selection of the manner of indicating and printing the inputted operator code. When an operator code comprised of a plurality of digits is entered by operating a decimal keyboard or ten-key (1) and an operator code key and when a first mode is set through a mode selection key (7), all the digits of the operator code are displayed in a display (11) and printed in a printer (12). If and when a second mode is set, only a predetermined partial digit or digits of the operator code comprised of a plurality of digits are printed and none of digits are displayed. If a third mode is set, both displaying and printing of the operator code are inhibited. Thus, a user can arbitrarily select whether the operator code should be displayed and printed, by switching the mode.

  • Patent number: 4618936
Abstract: An electronic cash register system includes an input keyboard and a high-speed computer which outputs through a buffer to a low-speed speech synthesizer. To avoid loss of data due to buffer overfill, a speech condition determination unit generates a control signal if the empty-condition of the buffer falls below a threshold. In one embodiment the control signal speeds up the speech synthesizer clock. In a second embodiment the keyboard is disabled.

  • Patent number: 4607334
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a mode selector for selecting a registration mode or a check and adjustment mode. The memories for the storage of various sales are adjusted during the check and adjustment mode to correct errors. The pre-adjustment information is retained until a clear operation is selected by the operator. A machine-locked condition is established in response to the adjustment operation. In response to the machine-locked condition any key input other than those used during the check and adjustment mode are inhibited. The machine-locked condition is removed when the pre-adjustment information is erased during a clear operation.

  • Patent number: 4502120
Abstract: A subsystem comprises an input device for inputting data, an operation device for operating the data, a memory device for memorizing the data, and a transmitting device for dividing the data into parts and transmitting every of the parts of the data into a master system. The master system comprises a receiving device for receiving the parts of the data. The capacity of the receiving device for receiving one of the parts of the data is identical with the capacity of the memory device for memorizing said one of the parts of the data. Preferably, a plurality of subsystems are connected to the sole master system. At least one of the master system and the subsystems is an electronic cash register.
